Our first time at Thrasher was to see Crystal Bowersox (American Idol finalist a few years back). While not fancy, it is a cozy venue, perfect for enjoying a concert.
The comedy show we attended was a bit offensive. However, they offer many different types of performances through the year. The free summer concerts in the park are just as good, in my opinion.
The bar and rest rooms are recently redone. The show was sold out but we got there early and had the best seats. Only negative is that the seats are folding chairs, otherwise comfortable.
We saw Delfaeyo Marsalis here, and it was really fun! This building is nothing fancy, and feels a little like a long house, however that's part of the charm. The ticket prices were low, the people were super friendly, and the musicians hung around after the show to chat. I will be back.
I love the quaintness of the atmosphere, and the sound of the big hall. Every seat is a good one because it is a smaller theatre. The only drawbacks are the folding seats and maybe lack of parking.
We were lucky enough to get to see Willy Porter, a great Wisconsin artist, at this venue. It is a small hall, so every seat is good. This was certainly a quality event for only $20. As for another reviewers comments, there is more than one restroom in the hall, but the women's bathroom still had a short line. This did not cause anyone to be late to see the 2nd half of the show. Keep up the work Thrasher House!
This is a wonder place to enjoy a show. It is small, which we like...no big, noisy crowds. If you want to sit close to the stage, get there early because the seats are not reserved. There is only one women's rest room, so lines can get long. They've added a bar, which is a nice feature. Many shops in the area are closed around performance time so that was disappointing.
A wonderful old opera house that has been refurbished with excellent acoustical balance. And the Green Lake Music Festival is always satisfying.
Nice venue, comfy seats, fair prices at the bar. Love that the community supports this little gem. All the volunteers seemed to be very proud of their little opera house. Kudos. :)
My husband and I attended the Emo Phillips comedy show at this opera house and had a great time. The venue is small but we were able to sit very close to the stage. The only negative was the 2-bathroom stall and the long lines at the bar. Would recommend for a fun night out!
