If you'd never had been at the Seaword Aquarium or at the Osaka's Kaiyukan Aquarium, you'll like the Acqua Mundo, It is a small aquarium, but with a good variety of fish, pinguins and a sea lion, some sharks and turtles. The best show is the feeding of the amazonic fish, the "pirarucu" is really glorious. The young monitors are very friendly. But the building needs an urgent renovation and it is difficult to find the place, cause there is not a single indication on the route. The entrance is expensive for what they offer, but as seniors we payed only half ticket.
Good variety of fishes of sea and rivers.Could be cheaper.
We visited the aquarium in September 2014. It cost 140 reais for our family of 4. Which converted is about $60 cnd. The aquarium was small to say the least, there were empty tanks, tanks with cracked windows and the water in most of the tanks appeared dirty. Kids enjoyed it, but it was over before it began. We will not be attending again.
This well kept aquarium has some interesting exhibits and is worth a visit. While not the size or magnitude of the big USA aquariums, it does reflect the water life of South America. There are descriptions of the exhibits but unfortunately, they are predominantly in Portuguese.
As we visited Brazil during the rainy season we were obliged to find interesting things to do when the heavens opened. We found Acqua Mundo an interesting acquarium, and easy to get to. The tanks are reasonably well kept and the information mostly accurate. The fish were somewhat crowded, but that made observation easy even if the animals themselves were possibly not so happy. The entrance price was reasonable for European pockets, but seemed a bit high for the local clients. The area around is full of places to eat!
Acqua Mundo is nicely located in the region of Enseada Beach. Their aquariums are filled with many rare tropical fish, charming illumination!
