In this park you can see different kind of wolfs. When it is feading time the wolfs show there typical behavior. In one word: impressive
The way to the site was well signed from the main road through Gueret and there was ample parking. Heartened by a welcome sign in English and an English version of the brochure we were a bit disappointed that the museum exhibits were only in French, but it was fairly easy to understand. The place came to life once we went outside. The wolves were easy to see, despite being in very large, natural looking woodland enclosures. Along the way were information boards in French and English which explained what the wolves' various postures mean, and also plans to develop the site to include different animals: foxes, badger, boar etc. All in all a very enjoyable way to spend 2 hours and €9.50.
If you can go to watch the feeding at about 4pm. Two young men in the wolves enclosure feeding the wolves, great to watch the only down side you need to be up on the gantry well before to get a good viewing spot. Nice walk through the park to see other wolves and to read a bit about them. They also supply leaflets in other languages.
We went to see the wolves as a birthday treat for me, and were not disappointed. The surroundings are beautiful, and the wolves easy to see and you can get quite close to them. They all look in good condition, and although it was a cold day out of season, we really enjoyed the experience.
We came to this park a few years ago, it was a very nice place with great scenery. However we picked a day which was far too hot and all the wolves were asleep. would like to revisit on a cooler day to see more of them. Good gift shop and accept student discount.
This place is certainly well worth a visit. The set up allows you to view the wolves in their 'natural' environment as much as possible. They are even doing evening tours now I think. Wish we could have done that....next time.
What a wonderful place to visit. A rare chance to get up close to France's wolves. This serene, superbly maintained wolf park is well worth investigating if you have a spare afternoon. You will be assured of a fantastic view of the wolves (you can also watch them being fed) and there is also the chance to get up close and personal with some farmyard friends too! The entrance fee is very good value and, as well as the animals, there is also a museum, video room, bar and gift shop to enjoy. Nature lovers be sure to stop by!
