I walked through the old Town of Gavle for two hours this summer. The house owners have really done their best to make their houses look as nice as possible. One of the streets had even won a price for being outstanding. I loved it.
A collection of old houses spared from a town wide fire. Nice enough to walk through, which you would be able to do in a few minutes.
Was part of a short stop at Gavle, but enjoyed the morning summer walk though out the old town.Looks everything tidy, and taking good care all over. I dont know if it was cleanning day, but saw an 'army' of cleanears, gardeners, swepers, etc. Arhitecture is in harmony, all buidings renovated (some still under process of renovating) and made enchanting for eyes to see.
Titta även in på Johnny Mattssongården.
It is very calm in winter with all the snow covering the rooftops, giving you the postcard views of Swedish Christmas. Liked it very much.
Nice and quite city, there nothing much to see.A small city, with a beautifull side walks. No much activities around since shops are closed at 10 except on Sunday nights where Bars are open till late night.
This part of Gavle adds to the attraction of the town and it is a must to see place. The architect of the old town is an example of the old Gavle before the fire
A picturesque little town with no apparent daily function but is nestle close to the heart of the city and is a pleasant walk and quiet visit to this historic part of a serene town.
It is a lovely place to walk around, rest on a bench and/or have a lunch there. Very cosy, not too big, not too many people. There is a very good restaurant in the middle with a big terrace and it is really beautiful to sit there on a sunny day! Recommended!
To se all the small, old houses. Narrow streets. How diffrent they decorates their houses. Its a nice not very long walk.
