My husband and I went to stay with his folks at Redstone Arsenal, and spent a day at the Museum. It was loads of fun!!
No where can you learn more about Space and beyond than in the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville AL. What an amazing part of our history and future! This is a MUST SEE place for all ages!
There is never a bad space exhibit. I love Werner Von Braun. The new space race is going to be even more exciting.
Visited KSC in Titusville back in January, and now the "Huntsville" equivalent in February. While it would be unfair to compare the two due to major differences in the facilities, I would definitely recommend the Space & Rocket Center. I really enjoyed the history of ROCKET CITY and think that any young math, science, or space-interested kids would LOVE this place! I didn't fully appreciate the Werner von Braun story but I certainly do now after my visit. We didn't have time for the I-Max theater but otherwise saw everything else. The current "101 Greatest Inventions" exhibit is not space related, but extremely interesting.I thought this was well-worth the price of admission, and will be back in the future as the exhibits change.
The US Space a Rocket center is a great place to visit and a must if you’re in town. A fantastic display of Huntsville’s role in space exploration. There are exhibits dating back to the beginning of rocketry up through modern day technology. They have a life size model of a complete space shuttle. There are also exhibits connected to the Army from the local Redstone Arsenal.
Plan on spending 3 to 4 hours going through the different exhibits. There are things for all ages. You have all the exhibits about space and spacecraft what I found interesting is the exhibit on all the everyday items that where created by the Marshall Space center scientist and engineers.
This is a great place for families with young children. If you've ever been interested in the space program they have a great exhibit with so much history. On the same property is Space Camp, which is great fun for kids. There is also an outdoor area featuring rockets and military crafts. Great interactive exhibits and special feature IMAX films add a unique level to the experience. If you love anything relating to the space program and space exploration this is great destination. If not, keep an open mind, and if you're in the area why not stop by for visit.
We had a very limited time in Huntsville, so we only strolled through the outdoor rocket park. It has an amazing collection of NASA and military rockets ranging from a WWII V1 buzz bomb to the massive Saturn V. Definitely the largest collection of rockets you'll see anywhere. Admission to the park is free, but the museum has a substantial addition cost.
Thank you for visiting the Rocket Center and taking a moment to share your experience. We are happy to hear that you had a great time with our museum and our Biergarten events! Again, thank you for a great rating and review, we hope to see you again.
