Nothing has changed here in 20 years since my last visit. Maybe it is even nicer? The whole town is really one of America's top beach communities. I was lucky , the area had a warm trend for nearly a week highs in the 80's! The surfer's were out in big numbers (several were really good! probably pro's?) and the volleyball courts had some very good games going on. Everyone will enjoy a day here. The best part was just watching and listening to the waves crashing on the beach. The locals as we walked around town were just as happy as can be, I would be too! The only withdraw was parking, and the water is colder than I like. OK spoiled in Florida, but the waves much nicer here.
This was a nice pier to walk out on. Ruby's restaurant at end of pier had a great breakfast. Saw seal swimming around the posts. Great view of the beach and city.
No matter what time of year, people still come on the weekends. Weather is superb (early March), as east coast gets hit with yet another storm...
I heard a lot about Huntington beach but when I actually went there, it was a great pleasure. We went there on Friday mornings I it wasn't that busy which was great. It was easy to park our vehicle and it was fun walking around when you don't have to bump anyone else!
My daughter wanted to visit the beach while we were vacationing in California. We parked on Main Street and walked a block to the beach. The view is amazing and the water was warm for February. The town is very cute with lots of restaurants and shopping. I'm sure this is the place to be in the warmer months. It was busy but not crowded.
Enjoyed the views from the pier. We also ate at Ruby's at the end of the pier. The food was good comparable to a Perkins and similarly priced.
From the Huntington Beach Pier you can see Surfers, Beach Volleyball game, the Fisherman's catch, Flying Kites and a nice view of the Pacific Ocean. Ruby's Diner is at the end of the pier and Dukes before the pier. Sunset view are awesome with the different hues of Purple,Red, Orange, and Yellow. There is always some kind of entertainment on the pier as well.
We were there mid week in Feb but there were lots of people and things going on. We spent quite a bit of time watching the surfers and a seal catching fish for lunch. Some interesting little shops and food available too!
Enjoyed a leisurely stroll on the Huntington Beach Pier. Local Souvenir Shops, Local Fisherman and a Food Establishment if that is what you are looking for on your visit. Great views of the beach and picturesque photo opportunities abound. You can also get great views of the surfers waiting to catch a wave.
We were lucky to come here on a gorgeous day in early January. It was surprisingly warm with many people swimming in the ocean on one side and surfing on the other. Great to just people watch for hours. Very lovely location and hope to return for a longer visit one day.
