Very nice local winery, surprisingly good wines for Highland Mills, NY. I have visited other NY State wineries and none compare. This winery also offers entertainment from local bands and singers to cover bands etc and provides a very nice experience.
Palaia is the best winery in the Hudson Valley. I have been there twicein the last six months and hoping to make it a regular stop when not on the wine tour. They have great food, great atmosphere and always have great entertainment. All of the employees were very nice and accommodating while we were visiting.
I love going to Palaia... they have some terrific wines in a terrific setting. In a funky converted barn, you can nosh on some cheese, drink some specialty mead, and listen to some terrific music. In the summer, they have outdoor concerts and plays/musicals. Happy to see such a chill local business in the area.
My wife and I come her on Fri or Sat night. They have great music - no cover. Their wines are moderately priced and just fine. The music is the draw. The venue - 2 diff rooms- a small one and a large one -both are very intimate. You get up close and personal with the performers. You will be in store for a great fun evening!
Palaia Vineyards & Winery I always enjoy going to Palaia for some fine award winning wine and a good time. And now they have some excellent local craft beers for your drinking pleasure. They also have a nice assortment of snacks/finger food to nosh on while you have a great time in a friendly atmosphere. Their friendly helpful staff will help you chose the right wine or beer and make you feel right at home.Palaia also presents some of the area’s best musicians for your entertainment. They have 3 music venues for a wide variety of musical acts and plays. The setting for Palaia is an old historic barn which they lovingly restored. The quaint old feeling of the barn is very warm and inviting. It’s great place to meet old friends and make new friends.
Palaia Winery is a great place to stop for a glass of wine and listen to a band or single guitarist on the weekend. During the summer I loved sitting outside under the tent watching music or a play on the big stage with a glass of Lemberger or a wine slushie. In the winter, I like being inside to absorb the unique atmosphere while sipping on wine and lately the craft beers. It is a comfortable place to have a conversation with a glass of wine and music.
We took a side trip after shopping at Woodbury Commons outlet and found this very cool funky winery.Highly recommended ~ the wines are delish and the owners are warm and friendly, make you feel at home in the vineyards. This place has a lot to offer- a picnic area , food , wine of course and even live music, day and night! and in in the shoppe lots of cool nick nacks and gifts - just a few miles down Rt 32 from the shopping outlet too makes a nice day trip !
My husband and I have been here many times. There is always a nice laid back atmosphere. The wine is good and there selection of musicians is just great. There are not many places where you can be sure of having a good time. This is one of them.Owners are nice and friendly and always welcoming.
I am very sorry you did not have a good time while you were here. I cannot imagine that our winery would be pretentious since we are a very laid back, easy going place. Sometimes we have to be strict with people when they have had too much to drink. It is the right of the person behind the counter not to serve someone, and it is their responsibility as well. We really do love to have people have a good time, but not to excess. We would love for you to give us a try again, but if you choose not to, we understand. Peace.
I am sorry that we had to cancel the band for our Harvest Fest. Doug O'Connor agreed with me that since it was pouring out it was better to cancel. We waited as long as we could, hoping that we could have them play since they are one of my favorite bands. The musicians in McMule would not have appreciated playing in the rain any more than having only a few people to play to under the tent. We got it out on facebook and on our website as soon as we confirmed with Doug, and I am truly sorry that you were in route when we cancelled. Since it was pouring out however, a quick call to the winery might have been a good idea. Peace
