this place is a really relaxing place plenty too see and do pretty harbour and you can see the famous loggerhead turtles in the harbour
It's like a hidden gem, most tourist visit close by towns ovacik, hisaronu and oludeinz. It's only a short bus journey down to fethiye but it is well worth the journey. It's full of restaurants and cafes. You can sit in one of the many terrace restaurants and looks over the beautiful harbour or even take a boat trip from there. It's a fantastic day out for everybody and its also just a short journey to calis beach. You can also do a touch of shopping there.
The harbour has been transformed over the years to create a lovely area to stroll round, stopping for refreshment or just to gaze over the crystal waters. The backdrop of mountains and rock tombs gives the whole area a feel of going back in time whilst the modernity of the harbour brings you back to reality. Boat trips are a must!
All the new garden areas are a pleasure to walk through. Just go down for a casual stroll around and then a drink in one of the bars on the front overlooking the harbour.
We stayed in Hisaronu and decided to take the bus to nearby Fethiye for the day. We had a lovely day exploring the beautiful harbour and the maze of back alleys full of shops and bars just behind it. We found it a nice change of pace from Hisaronu, more relaxed and yet still vibrant with lots to see and do. This is also a great place to book a boat trip from, and the fish market is not to be missed!
Beautiful views, good restaurants, clean and has that relaxing but busy atmosphere. If you're lucky you will spy a turtle coming up amongst the boats, we did!
very clean, easy to get to by small mini buses that run every 10mins or so never had to wait to long for one to come by
Nice place to visit picturesque .well worth going day or night Plenty of bars and shops about Didn't try and restaurants soo can't comment
Fethiye is a rapidly expanding town, harbour and tourist destination. Paspatur Old Town is located to the rear of the main harbour with its bazaar and many cafes and bars, an excellent fish market, restaurants, boutiques, spice markets etc. etc. A promenade along the harbour is lined with restaurants and bars. After our gulet docked at the marina, we spent the day exploring the town site, replenished our spices at the spice shops and walked the promenade. We even watched the dancing fountains at Uğur Mumcu Park. This is another colourful, beautiful and vibrant harbour town.
Work now completed on Fethiye harbour and must say very impressed. Wonderful to walk around. Or just chill out in one of the bars/restaurants/cafes and watch the world go by or watch the sun set over the ocean. Enjoyable to visit either day or night - lovely landscaped gardens with fountain and play area for the little ones. Have got some fantastic photos taken around this area. Also the harbour area is so close to the Paspatur , the big Tuesday market and the fish market. You can book boat trips or catch a water taxi to Callis or Olu Deniz, look for turtles swimming around the boats or feed the fish. I found a second hand book shop on the harbour which I shall definitely be using n the future. The walkway to Callis is apparently completed but I did not get to try this out this year - hopefully I will get to do this walk next year (if it's not too hot). I really enjoy spending time in this area and would recommend a visit as there's something for everyone - even if you have to venture off to the surrounding areas
