But I didn't give it the highest rating, only because the competition from Multnomah and Latourell Falls is just too great. It's still worth a stop and a photo, but it's too bad that you will encounter it after the two stars of the waterfall show on a drive up from Portland. Otherwise, you would be astonished and probably rate it Excellent. As I probably should have.
Access to a great view at the bottom of Horsetail Falls is just a quick walk from the parking lot across the street. This spot is a beautiful natural wonder and definitely worth the stop.
No matter how hurried take the time to visit this site you will be glad that you did. It is truly awesome. A thing of dreams
Fun place to visit, many stairs, so not handicap accessible. The service was friendly and spot-on. Nice that they are generous to let you taste their beer. Food was good, not exceptional.
We had planned to go to Multnomah Falls but there was no parking. So instead we visited Horsetail and Ponytail Falls. A short hike but definitely pretty.
Easily access right from the parking lot. A beautiful tall falls. This is a very busy attraction, which was frustrating when trying to take good photos. People were careless about walking in front of you while you set up your shot.
Travelled along the old route 30 and visited all the various waterfalls along the way. All were slightly different but this one wasn't crowded so it probably felt nicer.
We enjoyed seeing Horsetail Falls on the Columbia River Gorge. The name of the falls is because the falls shape look like a horse's tail. There is a hiking trail if one wants to explore this area further. Parking is free.
Horsetail Falls are fabulous. Must less water this trip than during the visit in the spring, but still worth the visit. We hiked to the next waterfall, the trail is a bit steep and narrow (we had three dogs with us), but all in all a nice hike.
We stopped at the Horsetail trail head after a long afternoon of hiking. The waterfall from the base is great and the spray was refreshing. We hiked the roughly 0.5 mi straight uphill to the upper horsetail falls. The trip is rough and quite a climb but totally with it as you went behind the falls and looked out. Very highly recommended.
