We have visited the Mount Hood area a number of times. This time it was early September and the weather was crystal clear and warm.We enjoyed seeing Mount Hood from various perspectives from the Columbia River Gorge. The views of the mountain were awesome. With Mount Hood standing at 11,250 feet , it was also awesome to see it reflected so nicely at Trillium Lake.We visited the resort at Mt. Hood - Timberline Lodge. They have an awesome buffet lunch there with good food and yummy desserts. From Timberline Lodge, we also saw a view of other volcanic mountain towards the south.
There's so much to do on Mt. Hood: hiking, skiing, backpacking, biking, swimming, lodging. I love it!!!
This was one of the places on our list to visit when we went to Oregon. As we travelled along the road towards Mount Hood, we got some fabulous views of it. The views all around are quite breath taking and if you are fit enough, I am sure the trails around it would give you an even better perspective. We visited several of the lakes in the area, and we could see this mountain and the "3 sisters" mountains also. Oregon is a brilliant place to visit and the locals are very helpful and friendly.
We just drove there to look around and we did not regret it. The view on the way to the mountain and from it are crazy beautiful.
If your in to snow activities this is the place for you. Its also beautiful in the summer months. The lodge has a lot of history and if any one recalls the movie " The Shining" this was the lodge they used to shoot the movie. Great place to see and visit if your in the area.
We were fortunate to be here on a relatively clear day and the views and scenert were awesome. I wish we had more time to hike because there were a lot of trails and the fresh air would have been wonderful. I look forward to a return trip where we can do some hiking.
Stay at the lodge no matter what time of year. This is a really great and enjoyable area to visit. Very well done
I was there in 2013 would love to have stayed longer but then I wouldn't mind moving out that way - the river and hood river along with the parks & White Salmon wonderful area just walk around in weather is pleasant most of the time
This is a great scenic area to drive and to hike. Several places to have a picnic lunch, or you can drive up to the historic lodge that was built in the early 1900's. Worth the trip!
This is simply the most beautiful places in the world. I have a picture on Lake Trillium that is timeless. The hike and view takes you away from your stress and thoughts. A must..
