Actually this is the third time visiting the store and we always looked forward to the stop. We bought a Cuckoo clock here approximately 6 years ago and we have had nothing but joy to have this in our home. Works like a charm and never have had a problem. There are so many varieties and price ranges. Always a warm welcome by the owner and the staff are very helpful
Part of our Globus tour. We stopped here. The owner met us outside with cherry wine. gave the whole group a demo on how the clocks are made. We had food/beer and black forest cake upstairs. Very cool little town. It was also crazy watching the train go past over top of the store.
what a gem of a place, got to stop for a picture or 2,The guy who owns this p[lace is a real character, on arrival you will be offered a small glass of local liquier, but you must take one glass for each leg ie 2 or you will have rain. Some beautiful hand made clocks on sale,as well as other nice gifts.
We travelled to the store as part of a guided tour, and ran out of time to order some clocks. We called them when we returned home, and the staff gave us excellent telephone service and a discount we would have gotten had we purchased the clocks when we were there. The clocks were gifts, and big hits. The clock selection is beyond amazing. I personally have not appreciated cuckoo clocks, but even I found some quite wonderful and attractive. The store's owner is there, and the store also has Black Forest Cake which was frankly amazingly good. I'd recommend the store as a nice stop along your travel.
A must go place, the guided tour was so informative. The tour guide explained beautifully and showed us different models of cuckoo clocks from the yester years and stories behind it...Must do things:• Black forest cake tastes awesome and the cream inside which a kick of brandy can be felt in every bite.• That’s the place where you get amazing Hot Chocolate & Coffee. Everywhere else I found those two as different drink but here it was together and worth every penny. And if anyone knows where else I can find them do let me know as its worth the try• Cuckoo clock Factory (During summers farmers farm for their living and during winters they make cuckoo clocks for their living or are busy making babies in their free time……chuckle ;-) )• Drive from the factory to Switzerland is beautiful, with having many scenes shot there from the very famous Sherlock Homes Movie/book.
Didnt buy anything here, but a must see for anyone coming to the Black Forest. The amzing craftsmanship takes ones breath away!
I went to the store in Triberg in September 2014 and the staff was great. I did not ask the name of the lady that helped us, but she was very patient and very kind. She answered all of our questions. When I told her I needed time to think and I wanted to shop around, she responded kindly that this is a major purchase that should not be rushed. I left the store but came back to buy the clock that now hangs in my house. There were 2 other clock shops that I shopped at and they were nice, but this little shop really excelled in helpfulness. They shipped my clocks and none of them were damaged.
Beautiful large clock. Shop exciting, prices good, good selection of gifts. See the woodworker ar work
At first glance I thought it's one like the many other shops. Then a shop representative by the name of Jacky offered her help, without ever pushing us to buy. She simply explained and answered our questions. Then she introduced us to Mr. Herr who was exhibiting his carving techniques in a corner of the shop. In the end we ended up buying a clock which is now reminding us about this Black Forest experience every time it sounds.
Went there as a stop on a tour, large working clock is the greeting attraction, but also cherry cake..free..tour director said best place to buy cuckoo clocks..hard to wait because last opportunity on tour and many other stops had clocks.. Prices here the best..no doubt..we had been pricing previously. Bought a clock..had it shipped to US..arrived perfect in 3 weeks and worked immediately..seamless transaction. Seems like a tourist trap at first impression but the buses seem to stop here because of value. About 1/4 of our tour bought clocks..ugh
