Visited this swimming hole a few years ago. It was out of the way, but a true hidden gem. Swam in the pools, frolicked in the falls. There were 4 kids and three adults in our party. Had a fun time until a massive storm rolled in. I recommend this for folks who like the outdoors. You need to walk down some stairs to access the pools, and water shoes would be a good idea. Signs tell of snakes and poison ivy...didn't see either. Picnic shelters and bathrooms on site.
We really enjoyed spending an hour here. There's a couple shallow pools appropriate for little kids and one deep one for adults and big kids who are confident swimmers. Bring a picnic and your beach chairs.
You would never know it was there! Even when sitting at the picnic tables, you can't hear it. Go down the hill! Hope you have your swimsuit ready! Beautiful and fun!
Very pretty & serene. Small pathway leads you to and around the small falls. Signs read caution rattlesnakes & poison ivy but it adds to the mystery!
Cascade falls and swimming hole- there is something utterly special about this place. Luke warm water, inviting natural pools, gorgeous surroundings, beautiful weather, more then friendly locals, and pure enjoyment for all. I highly recommend this natural beauty to anybody- its truly a hidden gem!
Cascade was so much fun. Beautiful and tranquil. I only gave it a four because of the rattle snakes. While we were eating lunch we could here one rattling somewhere in the weeds behind us. Kind of creepy. The wading area is very nice on a 98 degree day. Place was a little crowded the day we went, but it was hot and July. This was my kids' favorite stop.
I love this place. I grew up with a dad that worked for a house moving company for many years. When ever we were in South Dakota near Hot Springs, he would always take me there. I grew up swimming in this place and I love it. Bring your swim suit and a lunch or picnic and enjoy. The only thing to worry about is the poison ivy on the opposite bank in places but that is about it!
We were driving around Hot Springs when we ran into the spot. After getting out of the car, we went down to the Falls. The falls are not spectacular but there fun little spot. My son took off his shoes and jumped into the water. If I been better prepared we would've brought along swimsuits. And he had fun walking along the rocks.
This was a very small park. It is a good place to walk and listen to the sounds of the cascading waters. The falls are very small, but pretty and the sound of the water is soothing. It was too cold to dip my feet in the water.
Cascade Falls is a cute spot. The water wasn't all that warm, but the scenery is gorgeous. Our boys enjoyed playing in the water and splashing. Beware, there are venomous snakes in that area. We didn't see or hear any, but just beware.
