I visited this museum after reading such great reviews but was sadly left underwhelmed by the experience. I went on a Sunday when the museum is free, which is great except it means it is very very busy. The layout is incredibly confusing, The story has no logical flow and I have no idea if maybe I missed out on some of the exhibits because of this. I didn't really take much away from the experience other than enjoying some of the video footage. It's a shame because the museum has great potential but it needs to be laid out a lot better
A good variety of exhibits and displays that tell the tale of the uprising in an factual and unemotive manner portraying the bravery of the people of Warsaw and how they were betrayed by the allies and butchered by the Germans. It is not a pretty tale but one that need a to be remembered. A must see of you are in Warsaw.
This is a beautifully done, painstakingly organized and emotionally wrenching exhibit. The story of the doomed but plucky fighters (not supported by the Allies who knew what was up) is tough to take. Being witness to history is what we can offer these brave men and women, boys and girls.
Sunday is the free day so expect a crowded museum. Fantastic collection of weaponry and a mass of information on display. There are information sheets in English and Polish dotted around which you can take away. Outside the museum to the rear is a wall with the names of the fallen, what will surprise is the length of the wall. There is an excellent book for sale in the Kase entitled "Ant on a chessboard" and at only 27 zloty for 400 pages of one insurgents memoirs. If I returned I would choose a paying day to avoid the crowds. For example the 3d film of Warsaw damage had a long queue all afternoon so didn't get to see it. Plenty of toilets available and a cloakroom.
Great museum but slightly confusing layout.Make sure you see the Movies on the ground floor. The short 3D one is worth the short queue
This Museum provided the best historical perspective of the uprising, with unforgettable displays and movies/pictures. A must see while in Warsaw. Highly recommended.
