I was so ready for the music show and all the lights after reading all the reviews!!! But... when we got there the hotel informed us that there had been so much water this spring that the doors of the dam are open the whole time. The shows are not on until the very last weekend of May... yep, missed it by one week!!! But still, it was worth the visit. beautiful nature, especially along the path behind the waterfall hotel.
It is like a miracle - you can feel the strength of nature. Although this is an artificial thing - you feel no human tracks there - only water and stone!
We've been to see the Imatra Waterfall a lot of time during this years, and it's always beautiful and a must see in Imatra, Finland. Lovely 20 minutes to pass with Family and listen to the nice music during the Waterfall.
Just great, everybody should see this one at least once in life time. The water show is running every day during summer time around six o'clock.
It is a great waterfall! Very impressive. But You can enjoy it only at 1800-1815 o'clock during summer months. The water falls very powerful. And the music is switched on - different (Sibelius, Nightwish) - depends on the week day.
Nice experience to the see the fierce force in combination with the music that is played. Be there in time to get a space in first row
Awesome power as the they open the flood gates and the water gushers through. It takes amazingly long for the river bottom to fill downstream but boy when it comes it comes with a roaring power. It is cool to see the river bed (bed rock and boulders) fully exposed and then being filled violently with water, huge rapids and fury of the water! The show includes music and it the flood gates are open for about 15 min so you have to be there on the dot 6 pm (about 15 min early if you want to get a good view spot). It is also free!
This waterfall is a must see!!Normally it provides about 4% of Finish energy, but in the summertime it opens at 6 p.m. to let out the huge amount of water to please tourists. The water runs into the Imatrankoski river - great!
We did not actually see the waterfall with the music, we knew that in advance. But it was a beautiful scenery nevertheless. Though we managed to see the dam doors being opened one side at a time (to release some pressure perhaps) so the only thing we actually missed was the music. I am sure it is much more magnificent when it is opened with music and light.
It does not last too long and sometimes nice additional light show, located near the center and runs daily
