Go now and see the Rotary Gardens Christmas Lights. It's a nice walk and very well done. You will see candy canes, flowers, swans, elves, and even Santa all in lights. Well worth your time.
Lovely and refreshing walk in a wonderful garden. Picture opportunities abound. Many different flowers and trees. I love the Chinese garden. There is a small fee per person. There offer a free day once a month.
Although very very busy this time of year with many visitors you just can't beat this holiday light display! I can't even imagine all of the hard work and many hours that goes into this. Beautifully done!
My husband and I visited the Anderson Japanese Gardens and the Janesville Rotary Gardens the same weekend. Although the Japanese garden is only a small portion of the Rotary Gardens, we liked it better than the much bigger Anderson Garden. We also really liked the Scottish garden as we had never before seen a Scottish garden.
If you visit Janesville when the flowers are in bloom, you won't want to miss a stroll through the Rotary gardens. Paths wind through great variety of flowers, the Japanese gardens, gazebos and more. It is well worth the entry fee! We were there in May 2013.
The gardens are beautiful and my 90 year old friend could walk the walk with no problems. There are informative signs and many different varieties of plants and flowers to see. There is an indoor area that is air conditioned in the summertime and a small gift shop. There is a pond and Japanese garden with plenty of seating as you stroll around the grounds. I love coming here with family and friends.
We enjoy going to Rotary Gardens to look at all the beautiful plants and flowers. We experienced the amazing display of lights for the holiday season and were awed. Definitely a favorite place to visit.
This garden is a must Spring, Summer, Fall and winter light show for the entire family. Plan a picnic or just a quiet stroll. you will be amazed by the beauty.
First and foremost, this garden is tended by volunteers, as is the light show and gift shop. THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!!Fantastic gardens, every year it changes, every season brings more beauty. I've been a member/friend of the garden for several years, even got married in the rose garden. Worth a visit anytime. If you see a volunteer during your visit to the garden, please thank them. The gift shop has some beautiful items as well. Christmas time they have a beautiful light show that runs every weekend in December. This is my favorite place in Janesville.
For some reason when I heard "light show" I was expecting to see more than what I saw. Most of the lights are stationary and I was expecting to see flashing lights with music. We did hear singing when we were walking along the road to the entrance but never a note after we entered. That was also disappointing. We were there on a Friday and you would think that all entertainment would go almost to closing time. Not so.It is apparent that a lot of time was spent to put the lights on the trees and bushes and there are some moving displays and 1/2 gallon luminaries along the pathway but I have to admit that I was disappointed. I don't know where I got the idea that it was going to be more entertaining but because of my expectations I have to say I left very disappointed. You can find private home owners that put on a better display with music and coordinating flashing lights. Sorry but this is only one man's opinion.
