We were able to get in with our guide, but not sure how "open" it is. Very impressive interior, but again, we were not allowed to take photos, but seems many others did. A guide always makes things more interesting since you get some background and history you wouldn't have from just wandering around by yourself. Worthwhile but not unusual
This is a really quite impressive church and matches some of the best churches we have visited in South America. The reason for 4 stars is simply that overpriced (at $4 entrance) and the no photo policy is a little frustrating
Lovely church to visit in Quito ! a must see while exploring the town! it is gold guilder from head to toe! However no pictures are allowed
Worth a visit when in the area, if your used to some of the great churches of the world its not in their league but for South America its an interesting statement on the role of religion in the country.
The church is beautiful, but what really made it was the tour we received. Since I was there to study Spanish, the tour was given in Spanish, so I didn't catch all of it, but our guide helped break the language barrier with his enthusiasm and passion for his subject. Highly recommend.
A cathedral all paved in gold - WOW!!! Most amazing experience of my life. This is a must see in Quito.
