The gardens have so much potential. It is obvious that care is not being taken for the existing plants and grounds. Most of the color was added by recently planted pansies. Staff was very nice. Just sad.
make a lovely place for outside weddings, but please not between June and September...humidity at its Southern best
Maybe it was because we visited in the Fall.. but a lot of grounds are over grown and dead. I am sure it's much nicer in the Spring when everything is in bloom. Maybe we will try again in the Spring if we are back in the area.
I live in a suburb outside of Jackson and would NOT visit Mynelle Gardens. This place is located in a very bad part of Jackson. You better be well armed!
A doable walk around the gardens - but we were about a month too late for all the flowers.
Great place to photograph children, brides etc. Well done. Not the safest place in town though. Lock your car.
I visited Mynelle Gardens on a pretty April afternoon. The lady at the front desk was very nice. The azaleas were in bloom so it was quite colorful. The grounds were well-kept and clean. I was a littler disappointed to see a blue tarp on the part of the Westbrook House roof. Otherwise a very enjoyable time.
There are a few places within the gardens that could use a little updating, but overall it's a great place to shoot wedding protraits/bridal portraits.
It is now in a sketchy neighborhood but well worth the trip (just be SAFE!) When I was growing up it was *the* place for portrait sessions and one of the most spectacular gardens in town. I'm ever so happy they are still around.
Not in the best of areas, but still a good garden to visit. Very beautiful areas.
