Charming period property with a well informed docent.Well worth a visit
What a great reminder of old time Jackson. We are fortunate that the Oaks house has been preserved for more than 150 years. It is a treasure for our citizens.
so much of the house's contents were given away and so many unknowns about how the rooms were used, but the guide and the film really help
Docent was very gracious and provided a wonderful tour of the house and it's grounds. Lots of stories about the 3 generations of of the Boyd family who had lived in the house from the time it was built in 1853 until 1960.
Our docent was very sweet and we loved talking to her. There is not much in there, but what they do have is interesting.
