This was an amazing experience. We bought the picnic package from an online deal, and really got a great value. We received a tour of the vineyard, which was smallish, but still informative. The workers here love their jobs and love wine. We were greeted with crackers, cheese, fruit, and of course wine. We received a keepsake picnic basket that was state of the art and insulated, also a cooked meal and a bottle of wine. We got to choose wherever we wanted to eat and we chose a great spot on the grass by the fountain. We were also given a nice roll up blanket to sit on the we could keep. Awesome awesome time!
The entire crew at Honora made my visit wonderful. They helped me pull off a seamless engagement to my beautiful now-fiance. I cannot express my gratitude enough for them making the moment very, very special (not to mention tasting exceptional wine). We look forward to a return trip very soon!
We love going to Honora for a wine tasting and to pick up, in addition to wine, their wonderful cheeses. I especially fell in love with the blueberry cheese. They also have cute items for gift giving. Worth the 25 minute drive from Grand Summit.
We are from CT and do the CT wine trail all the time so We stopped at honora on our way thru Vermont. Not really expecting anything great but had some extra time so we stopped. Boy were we surprised!! we did the tasting which was only $5 for5 wines and they were all very very good. One white wine and the rest all reds. They had a special $6 a bottle for the Syrah. Jean was our hostess and she was so awesome! knowledgable and friendly. The tasting came with the most tasty fresh cheeses that were trimmed right there off the wheel , We ended up purchasing 2 bottles and had a couple glasses of wine there.i would definitely recommend stopping here !! And look forward to going back the next time I'm in Vermont
A friend had made reservations for the 8 of us to have a wine tasting while we were in the area. To enter the grounds we drove on a lovely wooden bridge across a babbling brook. Everything looked so fresh and neat and the day was sunny and perfect. On our right was a lovely little gazebo, some great wine barrels on their sides and ahead was a pond. Immediately our "city stresses" vanished and we hadn't even tried the wine yet! One couple mentioned that their anniversary was in 2 days and somehow we spontaneously headed to the gazebo and there they renewed their vows. Then we went in for the wine tasting and it immediately became a celebration. Compared to other wine tasting places I have visited, this one: has more intimate grounds, a lower cost, a greater variety of wines to taste, and more sensibly priced "gift store" items. Needless to say, they needed to restock when we women finished shopping!!
I came across Honora Winery while staying in and touring around Perkinsville, VT. It's a cute little place with a great wine-related gift shop. The pours are generous and the staff, especially Janet, make you feel right at home and know their wines. Try the blueberry cheese! It's a fun place for a wine tasting and if you have time, take a tour of the estate up the road. It's reminiscent of Tuscany.
This tasting was extremely pleasant and personable. We enjoyed the staff and their hospitality very much. The wines were tasteful. Normally we enjoy white but the Cabernet Sauvignon was exquisite! They also have a very unique selection of cheese. You have to try to blueberry cheese, it was delicious! Kudos to this winery for achieving a top-quality product and selection in an otherwise tough climate to survive. Definitely recommend!
My fiancé and I visited the tasting room last weekend while staying in the area for a murder mystery weekend. The wines are really good, the cheese selection is great and the employees are wonderful and know a lot about the products. We had a great time talking to Janet, she makes you feel like you've know her your whole life! I can't wait to visit next year!
We stopped by this place on a whim while driving by and spent a lovely 1/2 hour doing a tasting (bought 2 bottles) and purusing a wonderful selection of local cheeses (bought some of that too). Attractive place, nice people, decent local wine.
My mom and I were looking for the winery and found the tasting room instead. I guess the vineyard is a few miles up the road. We tasted their wines and bought some cheese. Both of the women working there were super nice. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the wines are. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to wine. The cost was $5.00 to sample (I think it was) 5 wines. The pour was generous. I was really surprised at the great cheese selection - there were ones from Italy and the Uk which were very unique and quite tasty. There were a lot of goat cheeses - not my favorite, but they were unique enough that I bought some for a platter that I decided to make to bring to a party. I've already recommended it to other friends and I'll definitely be back to buy more cheese! One of the women told me that they'll be carrying Italian meats and sausages soon, so I'll be back for that too!
