I am fortunate to live near Lake Okanagan. This stunning lake spans about 68 miles from north, Vernon area, to the south, Penticton area. Kelowna sits just about midway. This lake is welcoming and refreshing during the hot summer months. It also boasts our own lake creature called OGOPOGO. I have yet to see it.There is a great board walk along the waterfront in Kelowna. There are many beaches to visit and many are equipped with fun activities for kids such as playgrounds, waterparks and food concessions.
Have been in the lake countless times in different spots alonglength of entire lake. There is no spot that's not beautiful....any timeof the year, but summer is incomparable. If you ride then its perfect. We ride from April till November, no complaints.Another stunning lake " of many colors " is Kalamalka Lake outpast Kelowna airport, on your way to Vernon,BC.
Loved this spotVery peaceful. Lovely units facing the lakeGolf outside thd doorWell furnished very clean and great views
This is a warm lake in the summer, sandy beaches, great board walk along the water in Kelowna. There are boat cruises available.
I have to say this is breathtaking. I had no idea that this glacier lake extended over 100 km's long and the mountains bridging both sides is such a beautiful view and experience. We travelled in November so didn't take advantage of lake activities but from what we see it must be incredible. Parasailing, boating, fishing etc must be an array of things to do. We drove to Osoyoos and the lake went on forever.. Great drive and roads were easy to navigate with lots of passing lanes.
The Okanagan lake is an amazing place to be during summer. There are several activities to do, like fishing, sailing and waterskiing. It's also a good option for a walk, since the view is beautiful.
The lake is so beautiful summer or winter. The water is choppy in the summer so you have to find a little cove or drive out pretty far from downtown Kelowna to sit in your boat. lots of beautiful beaches, although lots of private property…..
I stand on my baloney and I see this lake every day. 365 days a yr it's beautiful. Not a fall/winter lake to play on, however summer it transforms into a holiday gateway to sun, fun, relaxation, and long summer days of tanning. 6 cities and towns grace it's shores, so being on the lake in a boat would be an added bonus; plan a day to have breakfast at one end and dinner at the other and much to see in between.
Lake Okanagan is big, get really warm in the summer, there is so many beaches, events, activities, you can't go wrong. Vaste hotel selection, great restaurants, so many parks!
great lake and with all in Canada spectacular picture opportunities. the weather was great but even on a bad day I can imagine it is spectacular. well worth parking up for 10 minutes for pictures
