We visited it not season time. I think it is a quite big castle and the exhhibitons are really good. You can find some info book in English but the descriptions on the wall are hungarian. I think if you are in that part of Hungary it worth to take some rest here.
A nice little medieval fortress in perfect condtion. They offer exhibitions which help you imagine how people lived in the small castles like this.
Really worth to visit. The castle is in good condition, and the exhibition is also very interesting. Also you can have a great view on the city.
szép, csendes hely gyönyörű park és strand ...........................................................................
The castle is in a very good conditions, surroundings are beautiful and the guide was really good in history, compared to guides in other places which i will mention in a separate review. He gave us a lot of details and was able to answer to all our questions about the Hungarian royal family and their connection with the Romanian royal families. We even found a few things which we did not know about.Everybody pays attention to the visitors, and this was a constant in the whole tow;. the torture room was a little bit too much, maybe, for small kids. But the little ones have plenty to see and do, so if you are in Gyula, visit the castle also. It really deserve an afternoon.Only a minor thing...the smal restaurant (more a pizza bar than a restaurant) could ofer some more dishes to choose from. The town is full of good restaurants, but that one is in the castle yard, and I am sure that a lot of people would like to have a nice food selection there.
