After a day taking a boat to the stunning islands of Arrial do Cabo I thought I had seen the most stunning gorgeous clean watered sun baked beaches. Then later in the day about half four our driver announced that we were stopping at a beach.I was hot tired and had an hour drive back and stopping for a beach! Welcome to fort beach Cabo Frio! WOW! jaw dropping beauty, white clean soft sand which was a delight to walk on. 7km long of pure delight for your eyes .GO if you love a beach.Has many party's in the evening and is huge.Runs around like a massive bay and the locals tell you it's actually 10 km which takes in Arrial do cabo which you can see way into the distance.I can honestly tell you for me this was a magic end to a fabulous day?
The beach and it's surroundings are great for a getaway from Rio's hustle and bustle. There are many restaurants near the beach and the food is very good. The waters range from light blue to dark blue and are truly amazing. This is my third time here and I will be back for more.
A paradisiac beach with amazing sea colors (green and blues), a pure white sand, just in front of a very busy oceandrive with many great buildings and its lively street scene. At night it is still very interesting with many goo enterteinment and food options.
Forte Beach (or "Praia do Forte", in portuguese) is quite a pleasant place, a urban beach close to Downtown Cabo Frio. Lots of good bars, restaurants, some night life (mainly during summer season) etc.; access by road (some 170 km / 105 mi drive or comfortable buses with a/c, go to Auto Viacao 1001 - http://www.autoviacao1001.com.br/en/) or by plane (AZUL has regular flights which usually increase during summer and decrease frequencies after Carnival Holiday. Cabo Frio is also close to Arraial do Cabo and Armacao dos Buzios (35-min drive) with their great diving spots and more than 20 beautiful beaches, lots of islands to visit etc. Quite windy region during spring, but a pradise if one enjoys some challenging sailing. A must-go for everyone travelling through the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The problem here is the crowd. It is a beautiful place overlooked by an old Portuguese fort. I used to enjoy it a lot during my childhood but not anymore. It is good for a visit, to take photos and get away to find places where you really can sit down and relax
Forte beach has more than 10km of extension with fine and white sand, like flour. The fort on the edge of the beach is a reminder of the Portuguese colonization in the region. The constant wind provides a delicious sensation of well-being, but make no mistake: use sunblock even on cloudy days. The sun is strong and the white sand reflects its rays.
this beach is very very nice. if you are comming from out side of brasil you gotta come here. this place leaves rio de janeiro city behind... its a lot better. also its good for snorkeling if you like it. here you can see lots of sea turtles and moreys
Enjoyed a few days at a rented apartment across from Forte Beach. Even though it is June and is winter the beach is still beautiful. However it rains and is cloudy quite often as it has for the last 3 days. The area has many restaurants and bars and the people seem very friendly. It has about 2 hours from Copacabana beach and I highly recommend Forte beach!
Wide beach with white sand that feels like flour when you run your fingers through it. The sea is great as well just a little bit cold but you get used to it once you are inside.
We spent an afternoon on the beach, drinking cerveja and playing in the sea. The sand is beautiful powdery white stuff, to be seen to be believed
