It never ceases to amaze me as to how great a view one gets from this hill. Love the expanse as well as the off leash aspect for a freedom run/ walk with my gal..how she loves to just open up and run run run..so glad they still allow this as it makes for a great outing for both me as the owner and my dog..we both come home feeling very peaceful and satisfied.
Very big urban park that is unspoiled other than parking and I think washrooms(?). Fresh air is in abundance and the views out of this world. A good place to enjoy the outdoors in a safe place. Calgary keep it the way it is. cheers
As I was traveling through the Calgary area, I stumbled on this park while finding a nearby area with some nice outdoor space and views of the area - I definitely found it. The park was easier to find than I expected and parking/bathroom facilities were great. The pathways were wide and easy to follow in any direction you wish - I took them heading towards the city center and while it took a little longer than I may have anticipated, the trek was worth it for the views of the landscape of the mountains and the city. I can understand other comment's about dogs being a concern - although I was fortunate enough to encounter pet owners who kept close watch of their dogs, I could definitely see it being disruptive of your pleasant walk to be chased or run down by someone's large dog. So long as everyone is respectful of other park-goer's this is a gem of a park in the city of Calgary.
Nose Hill Park has preserved the outdoors pleasures I knew as a child growing up on the prairie. Walk on packed earth paths (some have been paved in recent years.) See croci bloom as the snow melts and watch the Buffalo Beans flower in May. Walk your kids and your dogs in safety and view the city from the highest point in this area. It has been preserved, as it is a sacred height for the First Nation peoples. Fortunately, all of us can enjoy seeing this beautiful stretch of undisturbed nature from most points in the north of Calgary.
Living in a city, there isn't much nature to escape too, but this is a huge park with loads of biodiversity and my dogs love it there. Be weary of some pet owners who don't have control of their dogs, but otherwise, it is a great place to explore and feel apart of something more. My favourite off leash destination for my pups and I. If one entrance is busy, drive around. there are several entrances and a big enough park to ensure you have a good time without loads of people on your path!
Lots of walking trails and dog areas. The sites is good year around and deers and coyotes are abundant.
Nose hill park is a great place to walk dogs. It is beautiful and easily makes you feel like you are out of the city. One downside is that there can occasionally be kyotes roaming the hills, so keep an eye out!
Great park for walking, running and letting your dog off leash. Runners have loads of trails to choose from. Recommend to pick one end of the park to stick with and do a small loop - don't try to cross it. North and west end are the flattest. Biggest hills on the south and east ends.
Nose hill park is a haven in the middle of Calgary. The perfect place to scape and have a walk to reenergise for your work days! Easy access, plenty of walk trails and an astonishing view of Calgary. I recommend about 3 hours to have a relaxing walk where you can take pictures, have a sit and enjoy some food, etc. Lovely place for nature lovers!
Lovely walking path leads to great view of downtown Calgary. Excellent opportunity to experience a bit of nature without travelling out of the city.
