have visited in the spring and summer this year on our visit to Kaiserslautern, kids love it !!! great fun play area plenty of benches and sitting areas for picnics and paddling in the little river and water play area, can hire dino wagons to take the kids and your picnic around the park, well worth a visit amazing flower displays , stunning place to visit, cant wait for our next visit. would recommend a visit to everyone great day out for all the family!!
There isn't a lot to do in Kaiserslautern so the gartenschau offers a great daytime activity. It has dinosaurs and facts about them, a field full of bugs and flowers, jungle gyms and a great restaurant. It's definitely a full afternoon of entertainment and fun for all ages.
I went during the pumpkin festival and it was awesome to see all of the creative displays made of pumpkin. There is so much to see and it is a very family oriented park. So much to do and see. Great day hang out for all ages.
This place is a favorite of ours. When my husband was deployed, I took my son almost every weekend (weather permitting). Spend the day here and let your kids roam. Sit back and enjoy a large hefeweizen while your children wear themselves out on all the playgrounds. It has a perfect walking trail that takes you around to see all of the huge dinosaurs. I cant say enough good things about this park!
The playgrounds are more suited for older kids who are good at climbing, but your little ones will delight in the green space and flowers to walk around it, not to mention the dinosaurs! The food stand inside the park offers a great variety from salads and bratwurst, to pizzas, creeps, coffee, and ice cream. The gift shop if cute with wines to sample that are made just for the Gartenshau. The pumpkin festival and it's decorations in the fall are not to be missed.
Perfect 3 hour trip for the family. Between the dinosaurs, the playgroumds and the gardens, it's well worth the trip.
We have passed by Kaiserlautern many times and decided to stop in the city see what they had to offer. The first place we visit was the Japanese Garden but the clerk said we would probably be more interested in the Gartenschau which was located down the street. We were really impressed with all the activities the family can do there. There is a skate park, mini golf, soccer area, ponds, waterplay, many different playgrounds, and of course dinosaurs! It's a fun place to spend a day.
A well maintained park/event area in the middle of Kaiserslautern. Perfect for strolling and admiring the flowers and the Dinosaurs. Nice pathways lead around the park and up to the most unusual chapel. There are Herb Gardens, orchards and places to have a coffee, beer etc. Great place for children and adults alike. Several events are held throughout the year and I can't wait to see the Pumpkin display in Autumn.
Had a good time with the family. Well maintained park. If you plan on going three times during the year, its worth getting the season pass. The walk up to the other park area is worth the climb since it is not very crowded. There are drinks and snacks for purchase as well but they dont take credit card.
We were uncertain whether to visit, but we are so glad that we did. The park is well laid out with skate ramps and food kiosks near to the entrance. Food is burgers, wurst etc., but well done and not excessively expensive. Although drinks, €2.50 for a 330ml bottle of soda were .The dinosaurs are spread out throughout the park and the information boards were super in both German and English. We explored most of the park, although the far end was not well signposted and we struggled to find the restaurant and loos there. We spent an entire afternoon in the park, which was full of families relaxing and enjoying themselves. The kids had a great time paddling in the streams, running around on the grass and playing on the swings. We played the mini-golf, which is well kept and the water hazards had us all laughing.Superb place to spend a sunny afternoon.
