I golfed the course in October and the driving range was closed for some inexplicable reason. This was a big dissapointment as we arrived an hour early to loosen up our chilly bones. The course was in good condition. However I felt that the elevation changes were completely overdone. This was a major detractor from the overall experience. One would have to golf here sevral times to familiarize himself with the course sufficiently enough to score well.
I had the pleasure of golfing at this fabulous course last week, and what a great time I had! From Karen , who coordinates the outings, to the starter, to the groundsmen...one more professional that the other. We were greeted with smiles and happy employees, had a delicious lunch afterwards at the 19th hole. The breathtaking views, the high quality of the grass, greens, bunkers, all of it made for a fun day. It was challanging, to say the least, but with the help of the GPS on board caddy, to many beer carts , ice cold water at many of the tee boxes, we survived the hot & humid temps, of that Aug day. The pro shop is full of beautiful golf attire, golves, shoes, etc. Centennial has no equal in this area. I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend golfing here.
Well laid out course, variety of terrain, interesting putting greens. Sure to make you scratch your head. Driving range also right in the midst of the the clubhouse. Would play again.
We played the course yesterday and had a great time. One word comes to mind when trying to describe the course and that word is spectacular. The course was beautifully conditioned with great mountain and valley views. After golf, we had a very tasty and reasonably priced lunch on the terrace. Our overall experience left us content and wanting to play here again.
Got to be worst cart fleet ever...Bald tires..dirty..Cart paths from hell.....stairs to climb like lady liberty......Have to park and walk to the ball on many holes as the drainage on the ledges is not good........Nelson did great job laying out holes...getting to them a problem...If you like walking up and down steep banks and crazy stairs...This the place for you
If you are coming to NY and have some time for a round, and do not mind travelling a bit... this course is worth it... amazing practice facility, GPS in the carts and GREAT layout!
If you go for lunch and it is warm and sunny, opt for lunch on the patio which has an awning over it. Paninis, club sandwiches, nsalads and burgers are alk good. In my opinion best lemonade inever had. Hits the spot on a hot day.
I play Centennial whenever I am traveling in the area and have my clubs. A very well maintained course, 27 challenging holes of golf, and I love the elevation changes and undulating greens and fairways, something I don't see much of in FL. The employees were great, the rates a little high for me, and the only disappointment was that the clubhouse and bathroom didn't seem as well maintained as it was in past trips, I am not a regular.
Nice place to play golf helpful staff and the resturante is awesome - friendly staff good food and clean.
We had a gorgeous autumn day to play golf at Centennial Golf Club. This is a very good mountain golf course -- scenic and well maintained for a public course. There are 3 nines - lakes, meadows and fairways. We played lakes and meadows -- lakes was beautiful and appropriately challenging, while we found meadows to me misnamed -- only 3 of the 9 holes feel like a meadow with the other 6 incredibly difficult and mountainous. Overall though we enjoyed our day of golf -- an especially nice outing for us city folks as it is a little over an hour drive north of Manhattan.
