Winter lights are spectacular; fun for all ages; nice walk on a winter's night; so much to see; little price for low income families but great to give as Christmas gifts!!
We've been going with our family for years to the Wildlife Park. There is something to see and do the whole year! Some of our highlights have been Easter for the big Easter egg hunt, summer for the water park, Halloween for the spooky surprises and of course winter for wildlights! The lights are amazing especially when you ride the wildlife express then you need to warm up by sitting around campfires drinking hot chocolate. The symphony of lights is really neat the music is great and the lights dance to each beat. I would highly recommend visiting the Kamloops wildlife park! It's not just for kids people of all ages would enjoy!
I have a membership in the Kamloops Wildlife Park because of the incredible work they do both to educate people about the animals, and the recovery work for the animals.
they are over priced and rather boring. They need to invest in some more hands on things as well as perhaps reducing their rates. While my oldest really enjoyed it my younger 2 boys found it less entertaining.
Very interesting, informative about each animal, very caring staff, fun place for everyone, you can have a special children's birthday party. During the summer, lots of entertainment, clown etc for children. I love Christmas out there, their special lights and lazer show. Little train ride around the park, Gift shop has a great variety, and to top off a great day, warm by the fire and a hot drink or lunch at the cozy Cafe. Love visiting few times a year
Very informative with regards to animals in British Columbia. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. The residents are well taken care of.
we visit every year and the kids love it! Winter and summer have plenty to offer and try the wild lights night if you are in the area at xmas.
Love this resort in the summer. The music, the village and hiking. We go every year to the free music they have had Kevin Costner and his band. Modern West, Burton Cummings and Blue Rodeo. They also have local bands perform, that have also been very enjoyable. We stayed in a condo last year and truly got experience all of Sun Peaks. Hiking, walking, golfing, Farmers Market, ice cream and good food.
This is such a special place to go and I always buy annual passes because I usually go multiple times a year and the money goes to such a wonderful organization. Walking around the park or up to the waterfall is a great way to connect with nature and get to see animals in ways that you normally wouldn't get to. They are well cared for and such fun to watch. My favorites are the bears and cougars and the mountain goat. I especially like the winter Wildlights event. This is one of the places I always recommend to summer visitors and kids of all ages!!
The park itself is in a neat location and there is a lot of potential but overall it was similar to visiting a zoo in China. Small heavily caged enclosures with little "natural" habitat. With a name that includes "park" we expected much more open space, especially since it focused on local animals. There is one major new enclosure being built and hopefully that will spur more updates.
