If you have the opportunity to go to a game at Arrowhead, definitely do it. I grew up in the area and am a huge Chiefs fan (even though I have Bears season tix now). It's a great atmosphere to see a game and the KC fans are very welcoming and friendly, even to outsiders (unless maybe you're a Raiders fan). The tailgating is great and if you are in town when there isn't a game, you can always go and get a tour. It's a fun thing to do and educational too. My son (who is 7 and a big football fan) loved it!
I attended an Awards Banquet at the stadium. The food, bar and general set up was really very good. A very charming atmosphere on a very cold night. I would go again to a banquet here. (Some banquets can be quite dreadful, but not this one.)
KC vs SD game. It was very frightening to be a place where you knew you weren't welcomed. The fans are the loudest, no doubt about that, that's awesome, something to be proud of. What isn't awesome is the fact that due to threats from the KC fans, we had to be escorted out by security. NOT a safe place to take kids. What these fans forget, it's a game, an entertainment game. I will be watching future games on TV, which is sad considering my money, for that game, went to KC.
We went here for a Rams vs Chiefs game this season, and the stadium is awesome! It's a nice change from watching games at the crappy Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. I love the open air stadium and the fans get LOUD. Great parking lot for tailgating also since the lot surrounds the whole stadium. The only negative is that it is far from the city center, but a lot of stadiums around the country are the same way.
Best football stadium in the nation. Loudest football stadium in the nation. Best football stadium parking lot for tailgating in the nation. Best fans in the nation. Built in 1971 by the City of Kansas City for Lamar Hunt and the Kansas City Chiefs. Beautiful design which has been copied by many NFL owners and cities. It has been lovingly cared for and renovated and modernized several times and is still a jewel. Not a bad seat in the place. Come early...the parking lot starts filling at 8:00 AM for a Noon Game. Parking and concessions are expensive. Former workplace of : Len Dawson, Marcus Allen, Joe Montana, Jan Stenerud, Trent Green, Derrick Thomas, Bobby Bell, Marty Shottenheimer. Current workplace of: Jamaal Charles, Justin Houston, and Andy Reed.Less crowded auto entrances are on the south end off Raytown Road.P.S. WEAR RED
I am a huge KC Chiefs fan. I hold a season pass and can't wait to spend my Sunday mornings out in the Truman Sports Complex parking lot. The atmosphere is great, if you don't mind the smell of BBQ. If you do mind the smell, go back to North Korea you communist piece of trash. My favorite part of any Chief's Sunday is the parking lot. Next, you step inside the Sea of Red, you are greeted with the roar of thousands of drunk fans who hold on to hope that our team has a chance. While our team continues to disappoint, the fans hold on to that hope. I love KC.
Tremendous family experince, plan for a day out, tail gate eating or enjoying the bar facilities a truly American experince there are more tv screens than you can shake a stick at, so if the game is important then you don't have to miss a minute even while waiting to buy a drink.....
I worked at Arrowhead Stadium as a VIP Guest Service Attendant and I tell you what, it's the BEST place ever to work. The Stadium itself is amazing, classy, the fans are great (including myself), the food is wonderful and working there was an awesome experience.
If you like football this is the place to visit. Loudest stadium in the league. Friendly fans good food not to mention the tailgating. Got to be the best tailgate party in the NFL. Have a look you won't be disappointed.
A very fun place to watch an NFL football game polite, loud fans are the norm, VERY loud, at one time in 2014 the noise level was measured by the Guinness people and was judged to have the record for loudest stadium in America.
