Beautiful outdoor shopping district built in the 50s to replicate Seville Spain. It has many upscale shops, restaurants, fountains, and architecture to see.
Great area for both shopping and dining. Many of the upscale shops have moved, but still plenty for discriminating taste (most recently was the move of Hall's to Crown Center.) A visit during Christmas for the light display is a must.
We were in town and decided to head down and check out the lights. It was just as I remembered from childhood, beautiful. I like to drive up and down the streets when it's too cold to walk around.
Okay, it's a tourist trap but it is beautiful, full of energy and has great places to shop. You must see it while you are in Kansas City...at least once.
This is an amazing place to visit during the holidays. I have taken my wife, parents and little niece and always have had fun. Take the carriage ride to see the lights and all the random people walking around.
The Country Club Plaza was the country's first "shopping mall". An outdoor shopping area with amazing architecture and great restaurants. Shop 'til you drop, have some great food, but don't forget to see all of the fountains, rod-iron gates and other architecture. JC Nichols was inspired by the architecture of Seville, Spain and several pieces were imported from Seville. Take your time and enjoy the day (and evening).
This area has great shopping. All of the best shops. It was heaven!! And it looks very historic. Great area with lots of food and drinks also!
Typical overpriced outdoor mall full of shops with things you either don't need or can't afford. Crowded, bad traffic, nothing to see here, move along.
For the shopaholics who read this, the Plaza is the first open air shopping center in the USA! Many well known shops are here, along with a dozen or more great places to eat. Wear your walking shoes, as it will take you about an hour to see it all. The Spanish motif is done on purpose as Seville Spain is one of our sister cities. If you can't find it here, it doesn't exist!!
The Country Club Plaza is a decent shopping center. Most of the stuff is pretty over-priced and it can be hard to find and navigate the exact store you are looking for. The movie theater is barely adequate and the service there is kind of poor. The Holiday light display is nice, especially if you stay at a neighboring hotel.
