This is an excellent city park with great views of Lake Couer d' Alene. We spent parts of two days here. I found the park to be a wonderful place to run in as it had a measured course on its sidewalks. On a very warm day, I also appreciated the shade from the many trees growing in the park. Some of them must be very old based on the heights. The promenade and the beach in the park provide the great views of the lake and excellent swimming on a hot day. Many families and other people were enjoying the park by having picnics. I was happy to find such a nice park in Couer d' Alene!
Good leadership at City Hall -- great investment in a vibrant lakeside/downtown open space for all ...
This park is peaceful, lovely and quiet. A perfect place to walk and enjoy nature. I would love to bring my grandchildren to play here. I would return ~
I lived in CD'A for a long time and when i came back to visit family i had forgotten how beautiful it was.. the park has all the picinic amenities as well as the georgous beach along with the play grounds. I have a very difficult time understanding the review that said it was very unsafe in the summer because they always have some kind of patrol. I have never seen any questionable people preying on tourists, while i lived there or when i was viviting. It would be a shame to miss out on this place. I love it here and i am in my 50"s
OK, I have mixed feeling on this. The park is awesome and very well done. However, man does not need to pave and concrete everything. This park was nice, OK with the newer tower the park looks awesome, but still needs more nature and less mortar.
Great place to see. A true slice of what's to love in America. Stay away on holidays, too crowded, and the locals don't handle their liquor well. Young bucks in the rut nearly always resort to fisticuffs around the does, nice any other time. Fantastic Beach!
Gorgeous area and well kept grass! Beautiful views of the water. Very quiet. An easy place to relax and take in the beauty.
Had a great walk around the park in the snow. Very nice and adjacent to library and resort. Path even cleared of snow.
We visited the park one afternoon in October and my child had fun. Between the Ft Sherman playground, sandy beaches, and the 3/4 mile broad walk around the CDA resort we had lots to keep us entertained for a couple hours. As mentioned in a previous post there were some questionable people hanging around the bandstand near the playground. They kept to themselves but I would not leave anything unattended. The CDA resort is nearby and The Shops across the lane has a great toy store called FigPickles. They have an old school carousel that a store employee turn on for our daughter. They have a great selection of educational toys and books...no junk there. The parking patrol was around a few times and is pretty strict on the 2 hour free parking limit on the side streets near the park area.Visitor center across the street from park and CDA resort had great resources.
This is a beautiful park overlooking the lake and beauty of Coeur d' Alene Resort. The floating dock is great way to see all of the boats in the marina. The views are spectacular and everything is so clean and well manicured. Idyllic, peaceful, and inviting and the fall colors are outstanding!
