We did not tour the entire Lori Wilson Park because we had our dog with us; pets are restricted to the dog park. I can tell you that we were very impressed with our morning experience there. There are two sections of the park to accommodate large and small dogs. Our older dog was afraid to go in, so we walked the perimeter. A woman from Pittsburgh spoke to us through the fence and invited us in. When our dog was still hesitant about entering, she brought her dog outside of the park. I was so touched by her kindness! I hope she reads this and knows how grateful we were for her spontaneous act of kindness!
Wanted to spend an hour on the beach. Found this park on A1A. Free parking, clean restrooms, nice Boardwalk to the beach. Plenty of places to sit for folks who can't get down to the sand. Life guard on duty. Nice dog park. Nice 1/4 mile Boardwalk thru preserved natural Florida environment.
dont know where all the birds are in Florida lately. Have seen more birders than birds the last ten days we've been here. Flushed a couple rock doves (IE flying rats) in a park near the port, and I can hear a mockingbird from my hotel room, but the signature florida birds have been few. Hope I see a few Pelicans fly over like last year, but not yet (we've only been in cocoa beach one day, so I have hope still). This is a very nice park, with lots of parking, beach access and the neat forest Boardwalk. Well worth the visit.
This park is about a mile south of Ron Jon's. It is a county park so there is no charge for parking. It has changing areas, bathrooms, dog park, ocean access, playground and picnic tables. You are close to many things in Cocoa beach also. It can get crowded so try to go early. There are lifeguards on the beach there so it's a good place to hit the beach especially with kids. No animals are allowed except in the dog park which is free.
This is basically a parking lot with a restroom and access to the beach. There is a small playground for kids, but not much else. It is a good place to park and go o the beach though.
While it is a free park, local tourist maps and the name of the street make this park sound like it has a special connection to the TV show I Dream of Jeannie. There is a sign at the entrance to the park that stated Barbara Eden visited Cocoa Beach (where I Dream of Jeannie was located, though filmed at Sunset Gower Studios and Columbia Ranch) in 1969. No other connect to the show could be located. Only come here if you want to use the dog park or park and go to the beach.
a nice walk around the park, and a good boardwalk to the beach.also plenty of parking space for cars
We stopped in this park today because we saw a sign regarding "I Dream of Jeanne" and was curious. I never found any information about Lori Wilson is I not sure why the park is named after her. Nevertheless, the park is very nice. Has a fairly decent sized dog park. Wonderful walk to the beach.
can park your car and walk to the beach quickly with out having to pay a fee. beach was nice and a lot of the locals go there. watch surfers was neat. lots of people when it was warm out so try to there earlier in the day.
