The beach was the best part. The beach was not crowed and was only steps away from the door of the Cresent Beach Motel. I had to walk a few feet to get to it. We walked to beach North and South and it was great.
A great surf beach with small, but long long rides on waves! Great for beginners, and even competent surfers have lots of fun in the water. There are places to rent surfboards and wetsuits if you don't have your own. We ride our horses on this beach, run our dogs on this beach, there are fire and BBQ pits and lots of clean, flat sand to sunbathe in hot weather or picnic even in mild weather. It's relaxting. Lots of driftwood and beautiful beach flora and fauna; trails to walk on. A nice place.
Best way to see 4th of July fireworks (when it is not foggy). Sand, campfire, hotdogs and s'mores. YUMMY and good times.
非常漂亮的一片沙滩,就在高速旁边,停车即可走到,黑沙子很细,被海浪扑成了一道道涟漪,落潮时走上去,沙滩上直接可以晒出人的倒影
You can ride your bike, walk or drive your car along this beautiful stretch of beach. Tide pools fun to explore, St George beach nice Sandy Beach. Walking the piers also fun the sea lions very plentiful and it was fun watching them ride the waves.
You can walk a little on this rocky beach. There is a lighthouse that can be visited at low tide only but we did not get there. On the city pier there are two restaurants. The Chart House is excellent and you can see the harbor seals and sea otters sitting along the pier outside your window while you dine on excellent seafood.
I love the whole town, the beaches, the parks, the weather.... I would move here in a heartbeat :)My favorite experience... shell hunting with my daughter.
Beautiful beach along 101 with easy access for most. Great place to let your dog run wild along the beach. And for people with difficulty walking it is easier to get the beach than most spots along 1 and 101.
If you're passing through Crescent City on the 101, this is a peaceful place to stretch your legs, wade in the small surf, skimboard or surf. Even in February, visitors splash and wade in shorts. Seldom crowded, I highly recommend a visit if for nothing else than the view from your car. Several very nice restaurants are convenient (see my other reviews).
Being a Florida native, I was a little weary of the cold, dreary Pacific Ocean in extreme Northern California. The first place I surfed was Crescent Beach during a large NW swell. Though I later ventured on to more challenging surf spots Crescent Beach was a great, playful beach break to get used to the subtleties of Pacific Ocean waves and the freezing cold water. Here's a tip, the closer you go towards the jetties the smaller the waves and milder current. Head there first during a large swell. During a big swell, a semi point break lines up on the outside for a really fun ride. Highly recommended!
