It is so great to have a movie theater on the north side of town. The Carmike is more pricey than I'm used to, but it's worth it to not have to drive further.
We saw a movie today for the first time at this theater. We were a little skeptical because it is in a mall... we thought it would be run down. We were pleasantly surprised to walk into a clean and new looking theater. The prices for tickets and snacks were about on par with any other movie going experience (overpriced everywhere). The atmosphere was nice and the seats were extremely comfortable. Will attend this theater again.
The theater is awesome. The movie experience here is excellent. Comfortable seats, huge screens and a sound system that rocks. Movie prices are about average. We always try to catch the matinee. However the concession stand will suck your wallet dry. The prices are really ridiculous. Shame that they can't make the whole experience more enjoyable with reasonable prices for everything.
Loved this new theater. The BIG D theater was awesome with impressive surround sound that rattles the chairs. Popcorn was ok ,not great. But I liked the rest.
Since we live in a bigger city, it was nice not to pay the "big city" prices to see a movie. We did not get anything from the concession stand, so I cannot comment on those prices. The theater seating was very comfortable. My best friend says that it would be a great place to take a nap if it were not for those loud speakers. The sound was good, not too loud. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.
We love to come to the movies, but the concessions are expensive! We spent more on concessions than movie tickets last time we went.
I love the theater, it's clean and looks well designed. The sound is awesome. As usual the popcorn and cokes are over-priced... but that's typical. The soda machines allow you to mix in whatever flavors you want which is fun!
Stayed nearby at the Baymont Inn Suites, going white water rafting the next morning so took my teen grand kids to a move the night before. The theater is pretty new, we had a nice time and they were happy (always a good thing with teenagers :)
My wife and I have visited several times. We prefer this cinema experience to Premier in Cleveland. The biggest plus is the chairs, comfortable and easy to cuddle with my wife. Accessibility is also good for all visitors. We have not tried the 3D screen, so I cannot comment.
A short drive and short lines make this theatre stress free. The seats are comfortable, large and they rock. The Big D theatre is VERY big and impressive. The sound system is awesome, the only drawback would be that sometimes if an action movie is playing in the next theatre you can hear the low rumble of the speakers during explosive scenes. Concessions are expensive, especially drinks but you can save by purchasing the popcorn bucket which is around $20 but can be refilled for $3.50 all year. Budget movies are shown between 4 - 5:30 every day for only $5.50 per person with an additional charge for 3D or Big D theatre movies. We just saw Frozen in 3D and it was wonderful. I would rather pay a little more for a memorable experience at this theatre than save a few bucks at another.
