Played this course in August - 11:06 AM tee time. Very nice, flat, challenging track - easy to walk. Two drawbacks - gasoline golf carts (noisy and stinky) and no marshaling (had a foursome in front of us who had, apparently, never played golf before and they were TERRIBLE!!!!) - marshal did nothing to move them on (with two open holes in front of them). Two courses here - one a par three; the other a championship par 72.
This is not an easy mini golf. No windmills or clown mouths to send your ball through. This is more like a three par complex. They also have a full 18 hole complex.
Well, I don't golf. So why am I reviewing a golf course? I am a bicyclist and the paths along the golf course are beautiful, well-maintained and the pub is cyclist-friendly. So if you are a golfer and your companions are not, it can still be a win. There is rumor that the city may sell the 9-hole par-3, so it may be privately run in the future. It is in short driving (pun intended) distance of Kent Station with many cute stores (Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, movie theater, Ann Taylor) for golf widows, so the gals can drop you at the tee and go have tea and shop while you wile away the hours and divots at Riverbend. It's a win for all kinds of outdoor fans. The walk north past the little condos and homes is a great level walking path along the river.
I like to go hit a bucket of balls once in a while. Very low key. Nothing fancy, but we don't need much. The best part is they offer Groupons for buckets of balls. I can never go wrong with that as a gift for my golf fanatic husband. They never go to waste.
This is a great complex without having to go far outside the city. This complex has a great club house and a freindly pro shop. I enjoy golfing here often.
This is a beautiful Municipal Course. We really like the Mini Golf. It doesn't have the normal windmills & clown mouths to deal with. This is a challenging small course.
Friendly staff, decent course. Greens could use some work yet so could my golf game....
I didn't get the chance to play the course while I was in town, but I stopped in to the pro shop to have a look around to kill sometime one afternoon. I found a great sale on during the time I was there, and they let me demo a driver that in the end I took home with me. The guys in the shop were very insightful, and had no hesitation whatsoever to tape up a club and let me demo it at the range. The service was excellent, and in the end, that's why I purchased the driver from them. Thanks guys!
My teens and I had a great time at Riverbend and you cannot fault a city for supporting miniature golf with their typical links. We always try to find one miniature golf course on our trips and this one was not filled with crazy windmills or giants, but it was a good test of our putting skills. They have lovely landscaping and the holes seem to be well maintained. Thanks for the fun excursion and kudos to municipal government for promoting family time with this course!
I just started playing golf this year and played a few courses. Riverbend in Kent is a well maintained courses and if you set tee time in early afternoon it can be a great deal. The course has a nice layout with some long fareways that can be forgiving if you Slice like I do. A few nice water hazzards and bunkers placement is good. This will be one of my regular courses in the coming years.
