We stopped in and found an excellent regional museum focusing on the early pioneer times of Klamath Falls. Lots of displays leading up to modern day, really gave us a picture of what it was like there. Lovely ladies behind the counter as well!
Sat in on a lecture about local historical sites that just happened to be going on that evening. Friendly local people.
The displays hadn't changed at all in the past ten years and when I went in to see it last month there were changes in the works and they had a really cool new section for children that was pretty hands on. It is a smaller museum but still has very interesting things to see. When I asked about the geology room (it was gone no pretty rocks) they let me know they were working on bring it back soon as well. The best part is that you can take the trolley ride for only 1.00. It takes you through downtown Klamath Falls and tells you the history. You can get off and on the trolley as you fancy. We got off at Veteran's park and had a picnic and feed the ducks. You could also stop into to see the Baldwin Hotel and Favell Museums along the ride as well as visit the Klamath Art Gallery.
We went there with the kids. Such a great time! There is lots to look at, and enough to help the kids not whine the whole time! ;) Check out the forestry display!
Has some interesting things to see. It isn't very much money. I have been there several times over the years. Check it out.
Nice museum. Allowed us to learn a little about the area in a short amount of time. Had exhibits for the kids allowing them to touch something.
They had the traveling Japanese showing of the Tule Lake interment camp, wonderful exhibit, welcoming museum, lot of history from Klamath Falls past.
This museum touches on a lot of history that you won't find in other museums. We were surprised that there wasn't more about the local native culture. What a learning experience. Low cost, nice for a quick visit.
Hadn't been to the county museum in about a year. What a change~ the exhibits were different, while hanging on to some favorites. Really inexpensive, great for 1/2 day with kids something different to do. Will go again this summer.
Our shuttle driver from the Running Y Ranch recommended this museum to us as a “must see” while visiting downtown Klamath Falls. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this museum. While housed in not a very large building, we found the exhibits to be very well laid out and interesting. Allow yourself about an hour or so to view all the displays.
