Not much to see. The tower is worth a picture or two and there's a few cannons where the fort walls would be. Ok for the history of it and a few pics. Otherwise, not much to it. No more than 5-10 minutes needed at this site.
If you're into castles, forts, etc then you will probably be let down by the size of this fort. There's really nothing special about it, other than when it was built. I didn't take any pictures because there really wasn't anything spectacular to see. 1 star for being clean and maintained.
It was a nice visit on the beach at the fort. We climbed it and it was really windy but beautiful. Many fun rock ornaments on the beach and the weather was great. Learn a bit of history before you go, otherwise it will look like a pile of rocks for you.
Nice place to visit, very low cost, real good local entertainment, and local food, you will love your visit
I have to admit that I like old remains of colonial architecture and this place is simply the essence of old colonial fort located at some small tropical island with its rusty canons and iguanas running around.
It's a pretty little fort that's worth checking out if you're in Kralendijk. What is impressive about this fort is that it was built in 1639. Now some of the buildings on the fort serve as the courthouse to the island.
The fort is well-maintained, and has some interesting history. Only need a few minutes to look around and take pics as much of it is in use for government offices.
