What a better way to spend your weekend than at the Cactus Theater! They really entertain you! The shows are awesome, the music is fantastic and the Cactus cuties are wonderful! If you get a chance go and check out the Cactus theater!
I have been to several shows and have enjoyed the ambiance of a fantastic old theatre. Looking forward to the Christmas special. Is a great place to visit if you are in town
The theater is the perfect size where you can hear the music without it blasting your ears. And speaking of music...the owner, Don Caldwell, a musician himself, follows through on offering Lubbock's local residences with the best music around. ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons has some history there as well. If you're in Lubbock, stop by and see what's playing...support local music!
Saw Justin Furstenfeld here on Sunday. Very intimate setting. Loved this theater. Looking forward to returning someday.
I went to see a Buddy Holly Tribute night event (with Alison Firefly) at the Cactus and it was fun. The problem is that the prices inside are outrageous. If you want to buy a Coca-Cola or box of popcorn be ready to mortgage your house! It is really disappointing that they try to take advantage of people by having such high prices inside.
homeless shelter close by. not only are you panhandled at the front door. it appears the management encourages it. was panhandled 3 separate times last visit. they have a small roped off porch area with staff right there and homeless folks inside ropes area busting you. this is my 3rd time here and I've experienced the same all 3 times. get security and run off pan handlers. it is offensive to your clientele and likely dangerous given the age of many you cater to. great old theatre, neat area and always wonderful talent. get rid of pan handlers or atleast attempt to and you can be 5 star with me and many others I assure you.
This is just what is says an old theater turned music venue. It still has the theater seating but there is a bar up front.I went and saw a fleetwod mac bruce sprinsteen cover band and they were really great. Get your music on then walk down the street to one of the many clubs for some dancing...
There are a wide variety of shows here, most of them showcasing musical talent. It is a comfortable and enjoyable place.
Did not know what to expect. But was blown away by the talent on the stage. The theater is intimate and fun. I have been several times to several productions and each time was very satisfied.
Recently a friend and I enjoyed a fab night of 50's-70's music at Cactus Theater. owner Don Caldwell sets up a great show including up and rising local talent. All of the musicians and singers get an opportunity to showcase their individual talents and the audience really shows their appreciation. The theater is small but that is part of the charm as it allows interaction between those on stage and those in audience. Don issues an invitation to dance in the aisles and many took advantage of the invite. I was pleased to find such a gem and will be going again as often as I can. Check the schedule on line and you will find music that fits every taste. Ticket price is very reasonable and there are restaurants nearby as well as the Buddy Holly Museum. Make a day of it!
