The interior of the duomo is somewhat dull compared with other churches in Lecce, but its location the its private square is astonishing: the architecture is wonderful.
An astounding building both inside, outside and underneath. I was suffering post traumatic church disorder by the time I got here, however, it is such a dramatic building I was completely recovered by the time I left. The crypt is a highlight.
Beautiful architecture set in a charming square. A great place for photos and a nice meeting place. A must-see in Lecce.
I have an opinion that most of baroque churches in Lecce (there are 43...) are much more appelaing when looked from the outside than inside The dome and its square are simply unique
I am not a lover of baroque architecture, I prefer something less ornate, unless it is Byzantine.. I was not expecting to like this Cathedral but it was totally enchanting. I was quiet overwhelmed by it , it is very very beautiful but Rococo, it has a wonderful unity. One should not miss it.
The duomo was a little disappointing when compared to the other baroque churches in Lecce and other duomo's in Italy generally having visited many before, yet it retained a quaint charm and sits within the piazza well. Definitely worth a visit on a tour of Lecce.
Walking in the street you would not expect to find a magnificent place like this the church also is a pics of artNote church open at 4-5 pm or 10 am
Lovely, well worth a visit, very beautiful carvings and statues. Small compared with other Cathedrals we have visited in Italy
Very beautiful church. Especially after dark. The lights really add a lot of grandur to it.So try to visit at night.A special Capella painted in blue is very very beautiful.
Looks wonderful at night for photos very impressive. In June not too crowded and it is tucked away so go to tourist info to get local street plan
