My boyfriend and I went to Monkey Trunks for my 30th birthday. Some obstacles were harder than others, so you could choose how much you wanted to challenge yourself. Really enjoyed the ziplines. Will definitely return the next time we're in Weirs Beach.
Because of the pricetag, we almost decided NOT to try it, but SO happy we did!!! educated by some polite young adults and allowed to challenge yourself or try something u loved, ladders to ropes to tire swinging, it was fun for the entire family! Even the ones that were watching the rest of us at the shaded picnic tables. My favorites were the ziplines!!! Each level of the amazing area was a wonderful experience! Plan on 3-5 hrs to really get your moneys worth.
If you haven't tried Monkey Trunks zipline and high ropes adventure you must plan to visit. We have tried all 3 locations...Laconia, Chocorua, NH and Saco, Maine. The are all different and it's great to visit all 3.The staff is super friendly and ready to help. This best value for a full day of fun.
Outstanding obstacle course and decent zip lines, especially for kids and adults that are new to these activities. They have zip lines for much younger kids too. Staff was helpful, understanding and patient, which is necessary for kids. For those who have done these activities before and are looking for much more challenging ones, Bretton Woods Canopy Tours, Wild Cat or Alpine Adventure would be more suitable. Otherwise, this place is excellent alternative for a quick and easy intro to zip lining.
My two children (8 and 11 years old) and I went to Monkey Trunks in Laconia, NH this past weekend and had a blast. The staff was great and very helpful and attentive. Safety was the staff's #1 priority and they enforced it with ease. I would definitely recommend this adventure to any family and I can now see why ropes courses are used for team and confidence building, I could definitely see both in my children.
My mom and I (I am 9) went to Monkey Trunks on August 26, 2014. I loved that they had no time limit. The staff were very nice when I needed help. The safety system is very convenient because the zip line trolley and safety claws are together in one unit.
I took my 9 year son and 8 year old daughter. The instructors did a good job training us prior to the climb. It's tiring opening and closing the monkey paws if you have to help your kids, but otherwise, great fun. I wish we prepared lunch and drinks so we could do more, but 2 hours in the heat was plenty. Kids zip lined and love every minute. You really have to feel comfortable with the equipment to "let go" and just jump and swing from obstacle to obstacle. My daughter and I were not much daredevils so we were done at 1 hour and 45 mins. My son could have kept going. The portapotty was just gross so plan carefully or walk 3 mins for a bathroom at the FunSpot next door down. The course was not overly crowded even though there were 16 people during the timeslot we had (10:30a). As long as the crowd is courtesy to the little ones, it's good.
Monkey Trunks was the best workout and fun I've had in awhile. Had a wonderful time. Thank you to all the Staff.
We visited Monkey Trunks on a Saturday morning of Labor Day Weekend. We were 2 adults, 2 10 year old girls, and a 7 year old boy. We had made reservations that week online, $50 per person. We thought that was pricey, but my daughter wanted to do it for her birthday. We arrived on time and filled out the appropriate forms. The kids working there were friendly and upbeat, and moved us through the process pretty quickly. We were the first people on the course and it stayed quiet to about noon.I was a little nervous for myself, as I don't like heights too much. And for my 7 year old who isn't the heartiest of souls. But we got into the course and everyone really started enjoying it. The first few obstacles were a little nerve wracking, but once you realize that you will not fall it becomes much more fun. The ziplines were awesome, we all enjoyed them. After about an hour and a half, we stopped for lunch. We had brought lunch, and ate at a picnic table on the property. I asked the employees before we did it to make sure we could go back after, and they said it was no problem. I have to say that I would give it 5 starts, except it was a little pricey for 5 people. It IS an unlimited time amount, so you can get a bang for your buck at this attraction if you want to stay longer than we did.I would recommend this attraction to do at least 1 time with the family.
I have to say that I am so happy that a place like Monkey Trunks exists. I am terrified of heights and have a horrible fear of falling, but with assistance from my family, friends and the staff, I was able to travel all three levels and both zip lines. This was a great bonding experience for my family as well as the friends we brought with us. I feel that anyone would benefit from experiencing this extreme activity at least once in their lives. As someone who was close to the weight cut-off and a complete amateur, I felt I would not make it far in the course, but I now feel a sense of accomplishment and a willingness to try something new.Thank you! Monkey Trunks!
