Waves were lapping over the walkway when arrived at the pier. It was a beautiful sight. Nice pictures on a cool morning
We were in Stearns Park so we had to go out and see the lighthouse. Supposedly, the #1 light in Michigan to visit. It's a neat lighthouse and wish we could have stayed for sunset as we hear it's a beautiful place to watch one. We'll come back sometime so we can.
We passed up a free wine tasting for sunset pictures and were not disappointed. It is about a 1/8 mile walk along the jetty to the light, but worth the walk and view. We were rewarded with a wonderful sunset.
Love the way the water breaks on this point and I am loving the unforgettable sunsets on the bay. I saw many people taking photos and I should have been too, but the experience was so good, I didn't want to interrupt it taking photos.
We walked back to the lighthouse and paid the $3 to walk to the top and look out. There was a very nice lady at the top who had some history on the lighthouse and was very good at answering questions.
We enjoyed our after dinner stroll along the breakwater out to the lighthouse. Wonderful lake and sunset views. It was not very crowded the evening we were there.
We went to Ludington to see the Lighthouse. Our daughter built a replica of it for school. Staff was amazing. It is a memory our daughter will have forever.
If the waves aren't crashing, be sure to walk out the breakwater to the lighthouse and visit the museum exhibits inside the lighthouse. Stop and talk to a fisherman, see how they're biting. Marvel at the glowing translucent blueness that is Lake Michigan, and absolutely come back at dusk for the greatest sunsets to be photographed and remembered for years to come.
The scenery was breath taking! My teen & pre-teen grandkids and I had the best time during our 3 day visit to the whole Ludington area!!!
The water is very blue by this walk to the lighthouse. You'd think you're in the carribbean. The pier offers a nice walk out to the lighthouse. Watch the waves though! Depending on the wind that day the water may come up on the pier.
