My boyfriend and I love the lake George area. However we had never been snow tubing before! So why not take a five hour trip to try something new! It was so much fun! It was a pretty busy day but the line moved pretty quickly!! We absolutely loved it! If I'm in the area again I would most definitely go again!!
This is a must-do when visiting the Lake George area. Suitable for young and almost old (I'm 63) this gentle tubing down the Hudson offers great scenery and a fund afternoon. They also offer more challenging rafting.Arrive about 40 minutes before the scheduled time and pay for the trip, get your water shoes and life jacket, put on your sun tan lotion and generally get ready for your journey which will take about 2+ hours in total including bus rides to and from the launch and pick up sites. The bus rides may be uncomfortable for a tall person but otherwise is ok. The office will store your car keys until you get back from the trip.
The kids conducting the tour are professional. A long as your a good listener you will have a great time for sure! Great views! Awesome diving spot! We will be back again next year for sure!
The place is portrayed as family friendly and it is not. I went with my family ages 1 3 5 9 12. They told me that it is no problem to bring babies and the water is shallow. We got to a full size river . the baby was supposed to go into her own tube. she could totally come out, so she sat on my lap. the guide pushed me out ahead of my children they couldn't see me . They also were not strong enough to paddle the tubes. The guides were yelling at them. I was nervous a whole time because I couldn't see them. When we got out of the tubes we had to climb up this steep hill while holding a baby the kids were falling all over the place. Do not come here with little kids. its not any different than any other tubing down a river and they don't allow children under 5.
My family and I went to Tubby Tubes for some summer tubing and a rafting ride. We had a great time with both activities! The summer tubing section has 3 slides that are fun for all ages. A lift brings you up to the top of the hill. The tubes can then go down the slides individually or in groups. It costs around $13 per person for the entire day.We then took a rafting trip down the Lazy River ($25 per adult, $23 per child). This was so relaxing! The river is very shallow, so there is no fear of having rough waters. The rafting is open to all ages (you do not even have to know how to swim!). A guide helps your group throughout the raft ride (Our guide was fantastic, definitely request Alan if possible). I honestly did not want the trip to end! You even have an opportunity to take a dip in the clean water of the river during this trip.Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this trip to those in the Lake George Area!
My husband and I brought our two girls, ages 6 and 8. The place was a death trap. I understand its winter. But when your trying to pull a tube and assist your chid on a sheet of ice. Not acceptable. On our 3rd attempt at the top of the hill my 8 yr. Old daughter fell and slammed her face of the icy ground. (Bruised face and all) After telling them they had to do something, their response was they can't use sand or salt because it will ruin their slides. You have to sign a waiver before entering. So clearly their interest is your money not your safety. Several familys left that day. The places is a rip-off and very dangerous.
My husband and I took our 2 children, ages 3 & 6, this weekend and had the time of our lives!!! We bought the season passes since it's worth the value if you go more than once. We were not disappointed! They have 6 fun fun fun lanes. 6 May not seem like much but it kept us busy for at least 4 hours. My youngest even did runs by herself! It wasn't overcrowded. The staff was so friendly. Can't wait to go back!
We had a great time! To get to the top all you had to do was put your butt in the tube and it pulled you to the top. Of course you could also walk up. I only did that twice. At the top we get to choose what downhill adventure you wanted to go on. My granddaughter is 5 and she went non stop for 2 hours. I sat a couple out to get some pictures (and of course get my energy back up). Great fun.
This is a great experience! We all enjoyed the trip. This is a must do when visiting Lake George. We also did their down hill tubing and my kids did not want to leave.
My 8 year old really enjoyed this. It was a little rundown/old and seems like there could be safety issues. We actually found a very large nail on the ground and gave it to the attendant. Most of the attendants were friendly and fun with the exception of one. Also, there could have been more attendants at the top, as most of the time there was only one for three slides. I'm glad we stumbled upon across a coupon giving us 2.00 off, but still seems kind of pricey for the quality. It was a fun time, and we went down the hill lots since there were not many people. Most people came and left during the time that we were there, and we were only there for about 1.5 hours.
