Took a 3hr intro gun class and was told when I called to sign up that no experience was needed. After instructor was at least 30mins late, it was a class more about the life experiences of a person's military background and a bit like learning to drive a car by having to learn the complete operation of a car's exhaust system and being expected to repair it like an expert. Really no attempt at instruction on how to USE a gun. After a wasted 6hrs, including commute time, it seemed as though the goal of this class was to prove that guns should only be used by experienced military. Odd, since Gander Mountain is in the business of selling guns.I would give no rating at all, as the class was a waste of my time and money.
Terrific Virtual Shooting Range! Knowledge, skill set and customer service attitude of sales people is awesome.
Lots of outdoors gear for hunting, fishing, camping.....large clothing selection with good sun protection styles and 511 CW options. Huge gun sales with knowledgeable staff. Love the gun range masters and the live, and virtual ranges. If you have the chance do the 360 range.
Had a horrible experience with the manager the store. A group of us went there a couple days ago to shoot at the archery range. A staff member let us in and we paid $8 to use it for about 2 hours. Today 1/9/14, I went back with the same people to shoot again and this time one of the store associates bluntly told us that it's been closed for 3 months. We talked to another guy at the gun counter and he let us in and told us not to worry about it. The same guy that told us it was closed comes by with a nasty tone of voice of why we were entering the range. Ten minutes later the manager pops in and blatantly told us we were not allowed to be there and told us that we need to leave. Horrible customer service and management staff.
Very profesional staff with a focus on safety and education. Highly recommend! We have now taken 2 classes and plan on at least two more.
The class was excellent, the hands-on time a little too short. Not sure why I have to provide so many characters, though.
I took my daughter to try out the simulator facilities. She had never shot a gun, and I wanted to expose her to guns and the importance of respecting them. We were run through a training and safety course with an instructor. He did an amazing job explaining safety and how to handle a gun. He did not allow for any leniency despite the gun being an inert gas powered laser gun for the simulator. It was a great precursor to the live range. The location is well maintained and welcoming.
Gander Mountain has a great shooting academy. We like to go with our girls and shoot using the 180 simulator. The guns are glocks with compressed air. They give a great feel of a real gun. If you'd like a fun few hours this is a great choice!
I have enjoyed going to the regular shooting range, and also going to the virtual shooting range. My son and I had a lot of fun at the virtual range. I bought my husband a gift certificate for both of us to do the 300 degree virtual simulator.
We visited to purchase some items for an upcoming camping trip. The store had everything you would need for outdoor adventures. The salespeople are helpful, friendly and professional. If you are in the Lake Mary area and have a chance to stop by to explore, it is worth a side trip.
