Nice picnic spot or photo ops, lots of people there the weekend of our visit. Very relaxing and able to get back away from everyone else and just take in the beautiful scenery.
If looking for a nice spot for a picnic, allow me to recommend Campbell's Covered Bridge. My wife, puppy, and I went there on a Sunday and had a swell time. It was quiet and picturesque. Don't go without a camera because there is a lot of beauty to experience. Talk a walk underneath the bridge in the shallow part of the water. It is cold, but rather refreshing.
This place is really beautiful in the spring and fall - - wonderful place to take family photos or go for a pic-nic.
Our Northern friends loved it. They must of take a dozen pictures. They just couldn't get over a covered bridge in the middle of no where, USA. We take most of our out of town guest there. It is a place to show off and they are doing some up grading. Looking good.
This bridge is definitely worth the trip to see. There have been some significant improvements to the area around it as well. Peaceful, historic and very photogenic.
Well preserved covered bridge, beautiful location. Very photogenic scenic area. I have been here several times and will continue to go back for future visits. Everyone I take there loves it.
This is a lovely location and a wonderful place to visit. It has a nice little park next to the river. Beautiful.
Had a picnic lunch here and took pics. Leaves should be perfect by Nov. Great for a day trip to see the leaves change. There is also a waterfall about 10 miles away in Columbus, NC.
This is apparently a popular spot for wedding photographers. It is a little out of the way from Greenville but the drive on Hwy 14 is quite nice.I went there on the Memorial day weekend. There were just 10 people or so at around 7 PM. The structure is well maintained. The only thing I was upset is people defacing it by writing on the wooden structure by scratching it. That is a shame and shows our civic pride :-(If you want to photograph it come at dawn for the best shots.
Covered Bridges are part of our country's history Loved the historical plaques and explanations There are several other covered bridges in the area. Also there are a number of wonderful waterfalls which make for good hiking destinations. Get a local trail head map and strike out. Always let some one know your route, destinations and ETA's
