The boat is extremely filthy and dingy. Overall a horrible experence.Crew was extremely arrogant and not at all willing to assist. You'd be better off fishing from a bridge or pier.Major regrets - WPB
My besties husband took me out a coupla' weeks ago for my birthday. Being accustomed to the calm, silky, waters of the Gulf of Mexico I premedicated with a dramamine. That was an epic failure. I hurled for what seemed like forever. However, not until I first landed the pool winning Kingfish at 27.5 pounds. The Capt, Jake our Mate and his other mate with the newly transplanted girlfriend were delightful company, physically fit for the challenges, and all round efficient crew.I had a blast. It was a Friday morning, we were lucky if we had 8 folks beside the crew. That's a great day in the Atlantic.I will be back in July to best my recent catch!
Overall great boat. Friendly captains and mates. Only downside is lots of cursing and smoking on the boat. No smoking signs but even the mates smoke. Caught lots of good kingfish at night. Probably recommend the day trips though.we went 3/5 nights we were there. Thanks to captain Fred and josh!
This is the kind of "deep sea" drift fishing I remember as a kid. A friend and I decided to go out on the boat on the 8am-noon excursion. We really did not go out far (I think about a mile or two). But we ran into a school of Bonita which nearly everyone on the boat had a fun time trying to reel in. Our lines all got tangled but it was fun. But after that first initial exciting Bonita run, very few people brought in any fish. But even still, it was fun. The crew attended to us well, baited our lines, helped untangle us, and even told a few jokes. It was an older but well kept boat. A few "eaters" were caught, but nothing really big. We fished off of the Lake Worth pier and then south of that area. It was a pleasant day, but really sunny so bring a hat and suncreen. A small cooler was allowed. It was $37 per adult, which I think was a little high...but worth it in the long run as everyone seemed to have a nice time. I would do it again, but maybe try an evening trip.
We went on boat like previous review stated crue where all drinking beer and smoking cigarettes also crue fish in back boat they seem to catch all the fish and want u to join fishing pool that your not going to win because the use different bait than everybody else at the end they want u to tip them for getting drunk instead of doing there job I Don't drink while I'm at work why should they never again waist of money don't do it
Out family of five (3 kids ages 5, 9, and 11) had a fantastic time on the Lady K out of Lantana. The crew was extremely helpful baiting our lines, helping the kids as needed, and pointing out interesting details of the various kinds of fish caught. The captain put us "on the fish" every run. The crew also cleaned our catch after we got back and we enjoyed a great dinner of cobia, yellowtail snapper, amberjack, and triggerfish. Great job!
I was fighting what felt like a very large fish. The skipper was fooling with the drag on the rental rod. Finally, he said, "gimme that. "I hand him the rod, he loses my fish. He hands me the rod and says,"Shark got your fish". I was fully capable of reeling in my own fish, but knowing his tackle is junk, i guess he felt he had the right touch. Wrong! You wouldn't do that to an angler with his own rod, right? Here's the kicker: the guy who won the pool fishes at a discounted rate. Why? Because he does maintenance on the rental rods. Go elsewhere. They are so arrogant they have no problem fishing while customers come up empty. Put the rod down & do your job!
Everytime I come to FL my family and I come to BarJack. Always a great Captain and Crew!!!!!!!!!!! Great price for fishing.
So i have moved to WPB from boston and I am new to the drift boating style of fishing. I have been on this boat numerous times (purchased one of their $300 super saver tickets) and have to say the service has been great, the staff are super friendly and they really do try to put you on the fish. The boat can get busy so ideally try not to go on the weekends and during spring break but then that is the same with every boat in the area. During the week the boat is pretty empty and there is plenty of room. I normally jig off the back and have lost lots of nice fish (all do to my own stupidity haha) but also landed some nice fish too. Ask about what fish are / are not included in the pool ticket before you purchase in as is standard on boats in this area bonita, sharks, bill fish etc all don't count so don't get upset if you catch a 20lb bonita and don't win the pool. All in all it is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon with friendly people who will try to accommodate everyone.
Had a great time. Captain and crew do their best for you. Fishing was excellent on my trip.No complaints and outstanding value.
