There are three beaches in close proximity at La Push. First, Second and Third beaches. We chose to hike the Second Beach. We had no idea what to expect, therefore, we did not wear the proper hiking attire....shoes! Me in my flip flops and hubby in his Birkenstocks, but we did it!! About a 30 minute hike, not too long but a hike nonetheless. The trails were well maintained and beautiful. Coming out of the tree and forest line, the beach is breathtaking. Very secluded and incredibly beautiful. Driftwood coupled with the green foliage and beach was gorgeous. This beach was definitely one of the highlights of our vacation. Well worth the hike in and out.
La Push beach was considerably smaller than Rialto and Ruby Beaches but still a beautiful walk along the rugged and wild Pacific coast. The sea stacks and cliffs make for a dramatic photo op and it was fun watching the surfers have a go at the waves. You have to drive through the Quileute Reservation to get there and we had a very friendly pup come up to our car to greet us as we arrived:)
Loved the beach, wide and clean. Great driftwood, great wildlife sightings. Take a walk, stay for the sunset.
La Push is way over-rated, too crowded, and not worth it. Rialto is a better choice.Bring a windbreaker/hoodie with you, you may need it. We went on a beautiful August Sunday afternoon and it was pretty chilly - and I like cold weather. The wind was blowing pretty hard, and the waves were crashing strong with the tide in. Excellent place to go for a stroll on a nice weekend, wasn't overly crowded. Not a huge hike from Port Angeles, and if you are in the area for other sights like the Hoh rain forest or Ruby Beach, go to Rialto, skip La Push.
I knew La Push was always pretty overcast but I knew that views were still amazing. The changing fog layers, watching the surfers, the beach creatures and rocks were awesome! First, Second and Third beach all great.
This is a stunning beach on the resort amazing seastacks and wildlife. Great waves and serene and tranquil feeling of being near the ocean with the amazing views. Great location for a sunset stroll on the beach or to sit and relax.
Gorgeous views and much fun for Twilight fans! :) The beach is easily accessible and kept clean. Many beautiful pebbles dot the shore. Great photo-ops!
La Push beach is well worth the visit. It makes you feel like you're in a story or a movie - the scenery is unparalleled. Rugged rocks rising out of the ocean, tall cliffs sheltering the beach and cutting it off from the outside world, a wonderful stretch of sand and rocks to walk along...very calming and romantic. Watching the sunset from this beach is an incredibly powerful experience; it makes it easy to understand why some ancient cultures worshipped and revered the sun. As it sinks below the horizon, everyone stops, reverently, to watch. Definitely an unforgettable place.
The beach is really nice, end of the road. Unfortunately you need to drive through La Push, which looks like something out of a third world country. You can have the same views at near-by Rialto Beach. Photos to follow.
Went to La Push and rented a cabin for a week. Walked along the shore and saw the biggest star fish resting on a rock . The sound of the ocean at night was very calming. This is a place that gives you the feel of raw beauty. Took a boat ride around the peninsula and was brought to a place that belongs in National Geographic. A rock full of sea lions. The mountains and ocean are a must see to believe this. The cabin on the beach and the culture of the Quillette Indians is amazing. The nicest people and cannot say enough about the great treatment. Beautiful place.
