A fabulous day of snorkelling and relaxing with the family. Saw puffer fish, sting ray and turtles. The water is gorgeous. Will be back!
The beauty of the Caribean with the tranquility of the Pacific! The Iguanas and Hermit Crabs are everywhere! Take bananas to feed the iguanas. Take snorkel equipment and food with as well. This is a great place to spend the day!
If you have the opportunity to go to Isla Iguana, you will not be disappointed! The beach and white sands are beautiful! The shells are abundant! If you stop long enough...the beach almost looks like it's moving with all of the crabs living there. It hosts the largest migration of Frigit birds, beautiful to watch while you're spending a lazy day in the sun. Pack your lunch and drinks and toilet paper because there is literally nothing that you can buy there. There are Ranger type guys that are on the island and they do charge a daily fee. They will come around to collect and you have to show your passport or residency card. But remember to take your garbage back home with you. Follow the path around the island for another scenic adventure! Iguana's all over..nature at it's best!
Is an amazing island, will take you about 30 minutes in boat from Playa El Arenal. Roundtrip price is around 70USD (I paid 70 for me and 6 people more). IMPORTANT, be sure that there is not low tide at the island otherwise won't worth to go.
The stop was part of our Whale Watching excursion. It was a rainy day so we didn't bring snorkeling equipment or bathing suits. Sure wish we had though, the water was beautiful Caribbean blue and I could see beautiful fish looking down from the boat.
Disliked- jellyfish but the rangers warned me. It was my own stupidity. It aS just a day with jellyfish. But only one time out of five visits. The snorkeling is great and it is worth a visit. Bring lots of water and some sandwiches.
We loved this place - transparent beach, lots of animals. Friendly iguanas, male frigates with huge red necks, parrot fish and lovely boat that took us for $80. the only thing I disliked was that you have to take ID to the island... but it was worth it
At the hotel we stayed. The trip was fantastic, we were so pleased that we had decided to do it: beautiful island with thousands of birds and seacrabs.
Isla iguana is a must do. The boats to take you from pedasi to isla iguana charge $70. For the day. The panga boats hold 6 people. We were a party of 4. The captain stays at isla iguana until you are ready to leave. Isla iguana is about 5 miles by water from pedasi. Be prepared for the best experience. Nothing is sold on the island of Isla iguana. Take food, beverages, snorkel gear and beach towels. It is a idyllic day if fantastic scenery and crystal clear water. The beach is powder white sand.
if you are in pedasi don t miss that island. go to playa el arenal ( at the beginning of pedasi turn left coming from las tablas to el arenal) ask fishermen to take you there (we paid 80 for 4) . the ride can be shaky from late december to april. on the island you pay 10 admission fee. bring food and water. to beaches, one for snorkling and swimming after 12.30 the other just for swimming. lot of iguanas and little crabs. beautiful beach!
