Lots of wildlife activity here. Many birds, ducks, squirrels, turtles, gators, etc. Nicely designed right on Lake Harris. Walking paths with wooden bridges over canals, park benches, and picnic tables. Decent bathroom facilities with water fountains. Not usually very crowded which is a bonus. Great park to just relax in and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Bring a loaf of bread to feed the ducks. You will be very popular in a quickness!
Venetian Gardens ParViews of A Park On A LakeVenetian Gardens Park is not your average run of the mill park, for one thing it is located smack dab in the middle of a city (Leesburg, Florida) and it has a lake sitting next to it. Venetian Gardens Park is a beautiful 64 acre park located on the west shore of Lake Harris. One day while driving to see my cardiologist who has an office on the shore of Lake Harris I just happened to look past the street, traffic, trees, offices, and noticed a very large park area with an even larger lake on the other side of the park.It was easy to drive into the area adjacent to the park, found a parking place without being charged for the space, got out and walked into the park which had no fence or toll to keep me from entering. There were walking paths, walking bridges, areas to fish from (bridges and banks) lots of water fowl and other sorts of birds, views of the trees, water way, and Lake Harris. Walking the entire 64 acres was easy, did not seem like it took that long because I was so involved with the birds, views, talking to others in the park and of course taking pictures of all I saw.If you like free attractions, beautiful views, birds, water fowl, and just relaxing you should head for Leesburg, Florida and Venetian Gardens Park.
The park is pretty and has lots of birds and nature. It could use more in the way of services such as restaurants, or some kind of food. It would draw more people from the community to the park.
Leesburg really out does itself at Christmas and we go annually to check out the Christmas lights and the Boat parade.
The gardens are beautiful, came upon them by chance several years ago. Rarely disappointed with wildlife here. Always something to see, Well maintained, very pretty with the Lake at the side. The walk is great, and the birds oblige with their antics.
Nice park on lake Harris near Leesburg center. Fireworks at holidays and Christmas decorations. Playground.
Stopped in to check on my favorite Lake County park today and I'm happy to report that it's even better now than it was my last review. The city of Leesburg has outdone itself. Venetian Gardens is absolutely amazing! They rebuilt the wooden bridges and all the waterways have been cleared. The park is spectacular! Between the landscape and wildlife, this is the most Zen park I've ever been to. Venetian Gardens includes several landscaped islands separated by tranquil, meandering canals. Sidewalks, pavilion, benches and seven wooden bridges are very popular with runners, cyclists and nature-lovers. Great place to meditate, or just relax and have a picnic. Ski Beach has picnic tables, outdoor grills, sand volleyball courts and a beautiful waterfront popular among fishing enthusiasts. I highly recommend visiting Venetian Gardens.
A very nice place for relaxing where you can find ducks and pigeons. You can have a nice walk over there.
This is a beautiful park right in the heart of Leesburg FL that has awesome boat ramp access to Lake Harris, in addition to just being a beautiful park for walking, picnicking, fishing, etc. and has the city run pool on property, as well, as the baseball park for college baseball in the summers. There is also a marina and many other benefits.....not to mention the decorations/lighting at Christmas time and the fireworks on the 4th of July with food and other vendors.
We returned to Venetian Gardens Park after our lovely visit last year and it was as enjoyable and beautiful as we remembered. This is a wonderful area to visit any time of the day, but sunrises and sunsets are especially nice - a great place to begin and end a day. Whether you are there to fish, walk the trail of bridges, birdwatch, or visit the marina you will find beauty all around. The park feels quite safe. It is clean as well.
