It never failed to amaze me each time I come back. In whatever perspective, angry or peaceful, cloudy or bright day it is still breath taking! If you haven't visited her, you are missing half of your life :)
Mt. Mayon is truly a beauty beyond doubt. I felt proud of it, proud that it is located in the Philippines. She stands tall and majestic and truly awesome. I was enchanted by her beauty and splendor. I am so happy to be able to see her and so thankful to God for the time and opportunity.
Been postponing this trip for the past three years. Finally, made it on Feb 23-25, 2015. Started with a flight from Manila to Naga, did a tour of Naga and visited Our Lady of Penafrancia Basilica/Cathedral/Shrine (three different locations but not too far from each other.) Then drove a couple of hours to Legazpi City, where Mt. Mayon is situated. The majestic Mt. Mayon is a very pleasant sight to view.....it is visible in most parts of the city and a different aura/personality depending on one's location. Town folks say that she used to have a perfect cone, but because of recent activities, she had changed a bit. I have no way of comparison but she still stand beautiful. During our stay, she was gracious enough to show off in all angles wherever we visited. Some days, she is covered with clouds, so no promises when one visits Legazpi City!! Wish you luck!
This is one of the truly majestic volcanoes not just in the Philippines but in Asia and the world.Great views that change with the weather and the time of day.
A quick trip to the lava rock on a quad and then if you are lucky you get a great view of the volcano.
Come to Albay to see Mayon, the most perfectly cone-shaped volcano in the world! You have a great view of it from anywhere in Albay. I would've liked to do some hiking, but they were expecting it to erupt. What do I dislike? I mean, it's a natural disaster. There are plenty of things to "dislike," namely the displacement of local people and the dangers of an active volcano. From a safe distance, however, it's pretty spectacular.
I like the view of the Cagsawa ruins, we have a lot of photographs , buy some souvenir like bolo, pili nuts and other decorative items. We also enjoy the foods and other sites around the park. We can reach it by tricycles which is the main transport within the city.
An awesome nature's gift located in the heart of the Province of Albay. It's perfect cone shape is what makes it the most beautiful active volcano in the whole wide world. But she's shy and loves to hide and bury her head in her sweetheart's loving arms - the bright yet obscuring mantle of protective clouds that surround her most of the time. But, one just needs to be patient, to watch and wait for she also peeps and flaunts her beauty from time to time.
My girlfriend and I wanted to walk up the volcano as it's just breathtakingly stunning. We went to the town hall tourists office and asked how we could go about this. A local guide said that at the moment due to the activity of the volcano you can only go up to base 2. We decided to do this. We paid p2500 each (hopefully not to bad a price) and arranged to set of at 6am the next day. The walk was good, hard in places and very warm, but the views from the top were fantastic. Swimming in the pools on the old lava flows were a highlight and having lunch afterwards with the guide and his family was such a treat. Fantastic food and evan better company. Thanks to Bhem (+63 910 809 0502) would recommend calling to arrange tours to anyone.
