Kourion beach is situated about a 14 minute drive from Limassol. Take the Highway for Paphos and follw the signs in brown which direct to the ancient greco roman site above the beach..There are three restaurants offering everything...The sea there can get choppy so be careful if you have small children.....A nice place to get away from all the more luxe touristy places and though busy on weekends you will be amazed at the diversity of the public .
Nice beach, not all sand OK for swimming.Choice of beach cafes available and there is a good walk along the beach in either direction.
I just love this place, the sea here is not as baby-friendly as at some family beaches on the island. BUT. It's got a magical feeling to it because of what's under the water. If you enjoy a swim with simple goggles or a mask, you don't have to be a strong swimmer to enjoy the view: as you swim along the coastline to the right from the main beach, you will discover tiny beaches full of pebbles out of this world. The white limestone rocks are mounting above your head, and the sea waters invite to keep exploring further down the coast. At most places on the way you may touch the ground if you need a rest, at some you would be tempted to climb on the rock formations along the coast - the most amazing about 500 meters away. The itself is quite stony, with some sand as you enter the sea. You've got a choice of three taverns, that are not the top choice on the island, but would do for a quick meal. Driving to Omodos (see my review) for a nicer lunch or dinner is a better option. As you approach the Kourion Beach you will notice the strawberry plantation. Better not miss out on it if you are lucky enough to be there in good season!
Great beaches on Kourion with 2 fish restaurant on the beach, plenty of fish dishes and cold beers. It's far from Limassol, 1/2 hours-40 minutes, but you can visit also the Kourion summer theatre.
This beach is simply stunning!Part pebble but mostly golden sand, this beach sits just below the ancient site of Kourion in a glorious sweeping cove. Wide stretches of beach and a clear blue sea make this a must for any beach lover. There are a few beach side bars / cafes where you can by refreshments and the beach is big enough not to feel crowded, even when there are many people about.Simp,ly the best beach we saw anywhere around Limassol!
Great place for lunch either before or after visiting the Kourion archaeological site, as there are a choice of 3 restaurants. Best one is just by the beach, and you can have lunch with the waves crashing against the rocks. Sea was too rough to swim, probably seasonal, although a few brave souls did go for their dip.
The restaurant on the beach is great for any time of day .We ate late afternoon and the evening diners were starting to arrive as the setting is beautiful.
Beautiful place, I was so relaxed I fell asleep and both restaurants we ate at were good value and yummy!!!
We visited here in late December and ate at the first of the three restaurants. Food was great and good value, sitting on a terrace metres from the sea and watching the sun go down.
