One of the biggest wastes of time in my recent trip to Texas. Notice all of the positive reviews of this place are by locals--I'm guessing friends and family of this "attraction". Avoid at all costs!
Spend a couple hours enjoying the past as you see all the antiques displayed with great care and organization.Something for everyone. The grounds are beautiful as you stroll from the barn to the little chapel
The tractors were nice, the water stagnant in the pond. In front of the place is a simulated graveyard with crosses depicting the gravesites of aborted babies! Very, very offensive. My wife was personally offended as a woman. These folks use this place as a front for their societal viewpoints. Avoid at all cost, unless you want to be offended.
Being raised on a farm, there were many implements that I not only recognized but I had actually used! Plows, cultivators, corn shellers, cream separators, saws, and hand tools just to name a few, all in immaculate condition. This place has the best collection of old and antique farm tractors, implements and tools I have ever seen in one location! Parrott Park has several interesting venues, a tractor collection, blacksmith shop, fully furnished school class room, kitchen including wood fired cook stove, chapel in the woods, and a beautiful pond where kids can feed the ducks. You can stroll the grounds at a leisurely pace or opt for a guided tour, displays are well signed and factual, This is a must see for anyone seeking a link to the past. Thank you Mr. Parrot for your generosity in preserving the past!
This museum has an extensive collection of antique farm and home equipment. We really enjoyed the displays. Helpful volunteers are there to answer questions. Don't miss the quaint little chapel that is a short walk from the museum.
This museum focuses mainly on agriculture of this area. There are lots of displays of farm equipment, antique kitchen equipment, old musical instruments and general antiques. The grounds are nice with a large pond with ducks to feed (the kids loved it). It is worth a couple of hours if you are in the area.
I go to old mill museum/parrot park 2 day ago. It very nice place for family to relax an learn history. I take my children there an they like looking at tractor car, big wheel spin and pretty pretty nature! Take a picnic basket. Worker very nice. We have good time.
Went here in January. Its a different kind of place with a couple of museums. I found the place very informative and cool.I will go again. Like I mentioned in the title. Its a great place for getting some photo practice. I did find the guided tour a little boring, but then again I usually enjoy being by myself when I wonder through museums. It is free, but they do take donations.
Nice little excursion, go at your own pace, museum in mill very well done, chapel at back of property was nice.
We went to the museum last year and didn't have the camera, so we returned this year with the camera, I know there are others who would enjoy the old farm equipment, and memoribilia, like the stills, not still working, and if you get a chance, talk with Mr.Parrott and get his history of Lindale! He really lived it! Roy Bass
