We caught the end of Mass. It was wonderful! Friendly people chatted to us after. Definitely worth a visit! Just beautiful! Nice cafe and gift shop down the steps :)
A very spiritual place to visit and only 10 minutes walk from City Centre. You can find spiritual healing or just take in the amazing architecture both pre and post war. Well worth a visit.
Well worth a visit to see a church in the round. The Crypt exhibition is fascinating telling the history of the site and the building.
a wonderful cathedral to visit once again free to visit but if you want to go and see the crypt there is a small charge well worth it
From the street this building looks almost concrete but the cavernous interior is most impressive and well worth a visit.Although not visited the Cafe and shop looked to have a wider menu/stock than other local visitor attractions.
I wanted to visit as it's an iconic building in Liverpool. I was very impressed with both the interior & exterior. Not alot to do once you're there but worth seeing all the. same
Stunning modern cathedral, makes for a great comparison to the historic Anglican Cathedral that's just a 10 minute walk away.Very impressive, beautifully designed and lavish modern cathedral. I'm not a huge fan of "contemporary" church architecture - instead, I favor the (neo)-Gothic, Roman etc. cathedrals. But even I must confess that I found the Metropolitan Cathedral to be intriguing and spectacular - if maybe a tad cold in atmosphere (It was empty when I visited). There are a lot of fascinating details though, and it certainly invites comparison to the similarly spectacular, but otherwise completely different, historic Anglican Cathedral that is just a 10 minute walk away. A visit to BOTH is a must when in Liverpool.Free entry and free photography.
Beautiful architecture, has to be viewed from inside to really appreciate the stunning stained glass dome. Fabulous cafe with outside seating area with great views of Hope Street and Anglican Cathedral. Has a really nice shop and gallery, worth a look in the Lutyens crypt for a small extra cost. You will be amazed at the sheer scale of the Cathedral that never was!
Despite this being a very modern Cathedral which is not necessarily to my taste one cannot help but admire the stained glass and lighting but the Crypt was not to be missed with a lovely guide with whim I could have stayed longer had we more time.
Lovely warm welcome as we arrived. Given a pamphlet to tell me about the different features in the cathedral. Very beautiful and interesting. We took the trip down to Lutyens Crypt which was well worth the £3 entry fee. We watched an extremely interesting bideo on theoriginal plans for the cathedral and how it came to be built the way it is today.A thoroughly modern cathedral and an interesting trip had by us both.
